judging by initial feedback, the SE Singlecut isn't similar tone-wise to the Tremonti. IMO, it's a good move.

I would say relatively similar to a LP, with a tighter sound due to the 25' neck scale. But a LP with a chunkier body will definetely sound meatier. But everything still depends on the construction.

have written in to enquire about the carvin v3 212 combo too. think if we MO we might save on shipping? anyone else for carvin v3's?? :)
hoping to get a reply by tomorrow...

 am pretty sure with the mass of the amps, you won't save on the price.

oh yea, check the shipping weight restrictions too. can be a pain if your amp gets stuck somewhere.

u wrote in to who?

I checked with carvin. They dont ship direct to spore. They will tell say contact a local distributor. If spore dont have, then ship from Malaysia or thailand or indonesia.

Thats until i found out abt ranking

3 people interested in the v3 already..sweet...anyone else care to join the club?

we should just flood the local carvin dealer with enquiries about the v3..then maybe they'll get the message to bring the damn thing in..

maybe we can wait a while more... cuz i read on carvin forum that there r some mods made by carvin, n ppl r sending it back to them to correct some issues. But carvin paid for everything, rebaised the tube n all. In fact carvin spotted the prob, n sounded off to the owners.

But in spore, i dont thnk u wanna pay the shipping over again man

But i sure am keen on it. Looks great, sounds gd both clean n dirty too. N its priced reasonable. Carvins always made gd amps yeah for affordable price, just no mkt here.

i sold my pacifica(112) to get this. Seriously, i wasnt really happy for this purchase. Its a fender jap, i can spot flaws on frets and nut, and a very poor setup. Wasnt very happy with the pickups either.

lol i dont know why, but i always see others censored their serial number when they post pics, i guess i just follow them :D

seriously, wasnt very happy on this, wasnt up to my expectation for a "japan". But its alright, maybe i too "niao" liao, me quite notorious for being niao ahaha.

Did you purchase it from luthermusic?

I personall tried that guitar before if you did.

Sounded lacklustre to me.

The nut can be done up for cheap at other shops.

forgot to mention, i swapped in a graphtech saddles :D. My next guitar will be a les paul, most likly getting from ishibashi. Anyone notice this? Where had tokai gone to? Ishibashi doesnt hold them anymore? I used to see more lp copies on ishibashi, until recently it only narrow down to fernades (burny)

why did u get it in the first place if it sucks so much?

It don't sucks, im just not impressed by it. Anyway its my fault for not trying out :) (I got real busy at work, espically when its home buiness, u literally need to be there from 8am to 11pm)

Its not that bad just doesnt live up to my expectation

I think the strat you bought the the lowest end of the line ST45. Basswood body

Not to say it's bad, but if you are looking for a vintage strat tone, that guitar would not really offer that sound.

Some would also feel that a Jap strat still would not sound like a vintage strat. I somewhat agree - the sound and the feel are different. Each has its distinct qualities.

On the upside, most Jap strats are well built.

I think you can ask luther to do a full setup on the guitar anyway since you purchased it there.

the thing with Jap Fenders is that:

*they are great guitars per se- tone/ playability/ construction are top notch

*they kinda miss the mark because the overall weight on offer is not truly fender-esque. this is kinda crucial as it contributes to tone

having said that, my next guitar is gonna be a Jap Fender 8)

Yep, the general opinion on Fenderforums and Seymour Duncan is that the tremolo block weight for MIJs/MIMs is lighter, hence the difference in tone.

they do stock them, drop them a mail

Regarding the Carvin v3 amps. I checked with Ranking today, and they said we can place order with them for it. Will take abt 2 mths to deliver.

Now as for price, she clearly said "2 times the web price." Then i asked why the legacy in their shop is listed more than 2X, then she said, "Aiyah, list price mah, haven't count in discount yet. Just take 2X the price lah."

Happy? I sure am

So who is int?
