if you're planning to change strings, get a set of 12 string electric Elixirs from Brendon.

So far I've not been able to find a proper 12 string electric set locally and Brendon was kind enough to order for me. Trust me, you don't wanna change 12 strings often. Elixirs rocks.

heh some updates on my gear,

1st strat is a 60th anni strat fitted with holy grails and a k7 switch

2nd one is my mongrel strat, neck off a mexican strat and body off a jap strat swamp ash wood, fitted with lace sensors hot gold pickups and a k7 switch

the RG is stock everything (soon to be modded hopefully)

Burny Les paul with sustainer system other than that rest is stock

Mayhem heavy? they are beyond heavy actually, some swirling madness in a music guise...

i enjoy Mayhem the most out of all the other black metal outfits, they are the forerunner of the genre, the Mayhem lads are crazy but cool people (managed to talk to them after their show here) but first & foremost, they are superb musicians (in this domain, of course). this is why i truly respect their latest effort where the music took a turn for the artistic.

it's not easy listening, definitely but i don't dwell on the band's introversion, i just respect the music.

well having slayer here was a pretty big surprise already. since they told linkin park when they had their concert in singapore "no vulgarities allowed." (note im not a fan of linkin park, i despise them actually just that i found it pretty ironic that vulgarities arent allowed but anti-religion themes are allowed.)

if you refer to Mayhem's homepage, the ones featuring Blasphemer playing a Washburn guitar is the s'pore show...

prior to the show, a local newspaper invoked doubts about the band's legitimacy of not propelling anti-religious sentiments & just channeling their efforts to music. the show went on without issues so it just goes to show that being prejudicially dismissive would only serve to undermine one's credit.
