it's about the nut: ensure minimal choking & maximum lubrication, your tuning will be in check- locking tuners or otherwise...

SA260- it's not just about a push/ pull volume pot, there is a patented True Duo humbucker in the SA260/ SAS guitars...

Is that "blackie"? Eric clapton signature strat? Is it japanese or american?

Look great... if it is, how is the V neck?

Haha i tell you a secret, but don't tell anyone else ok -- the strange pawnshop one plays bad, sounds bad, but looks cool only (to me). Its muddy, undefined, and the pickups are microphonic.. action is horrendous, frets are almost wasted and the strange bridge string thing is an engineering mystery in itself. But i couldnt resist it lar.. S$40 only. Some purchases, you just can't explain, no matter how hard you try....

The Strat is a mid-90s MIA Clapton with the 25db midboost and tbx circuit, although I'm sure the Japanese versions are really good too. I bought it from one of those collectors in the US who have way too many guitars (the guy had 3 Claptons). The v-neck is something you could get used to. Its more pronounced at the top, and its comfy for someone with bigger hands, and towards the body it starts feeling like a regular strat neck. Pretty fun guitar, and you can throw it around without worrying cos the poly overcoat is pretty hardy. Plus, black guitars don't get dirty.

The amp was built as a project by a local techie who's a real cool guy. It understand that its a 5-watt Fender Champ circuit built into an old Gibson Skylark body (after some googling, it looks to be a 1964 or 65 model). If i can recall correctly, it uses a 6v6 and maybe a 12ax7, but i can't remember because its been a long time since i last looked. The techie's lent it out before so i think some people here might find the amp familiar.

Its a great little amp, with just an on-off switch and a volume knob. I had a small 30w Marshall combo once, in brown, but it was way too loud for home use, and so i sold it off for this one. This amp is very responsive to your playing volume and technique, and you can have lots of fun varying your attack and playing with the volume knob on your guitar to drive the amp at bedroom levels or to play clean lines. I dont run any effects into it other than EQ and a touch of reverb. Its pretty fun to rely solely on your guitar volume knob and your attack to alter the tone and get overdrive, cos it feels really organic. I see a lot of really nice amps on this forum though -- people here have really good gear!
