point taken....hahahah.....i just hope singapore wont have this same stuff, paticularly that this country is small, 1 big riot will affect the whole nation....if violence is the only way ppl do to solve issue, den is too bad.some ppl took music culture seriously, tat they forgot their own roots....dont tell me if u into black metal, even in festive season, u have corpse paint,studded belt and boots when u celebrate it.

hehehe, if iam a black metallist, i disowned my own culture and festive season, i go live in the mountain(bukit timah hill, in this case) with my sword/leather/studds /corpse paint and get close to my roots by looking at tree branches resembling blackest metal band logo and howling under the moonlight while playing my pointy geetar and brewtal than phuq, more gain then gain geetar amp!
This is what happens when people's conception of cultures is that it should dominate the others.
I thought the punks and the metalheads' stand was to go against the authority, in a sense that their music was to inspire a change in people's mind. And I thought emotive music was just a way of putting whatever you feel for that particular moment into words and melody?
I know anti-flag wont beat jimmy eat world up, just because 'jew' sang 'in the middle'.

Didn't we have enough of that nonsense back 4-5 years ago with the whole skinhead and punk gangs bringing their gang fights into gigs...
Thats why shows like Baybeats have had such crazy security a few years back. Police were concern that there would be gang fight and ppl carrying knives into the mosh pit etc.
Its really dumb and it just spoils the shows for everyone.

the hate in the scene is from the fact that emo are stealing bits that are sacred to us in our music culture and twisting them around to have emo overtones, thus causing the general public to view us in the same manner as them.
and generally, we dont like to be lumped together into one drawer and labelled just due to people's stereotyping and misconception.

in case u haven't noticed, we're not saying we should be beating up emo's. we're stating cause and effect here, not saying we should. other countries do it doesn;t mean we do, so please understand all points of view before coming in and saying redundant statement such as the one i quote you from.

Somehow, I think this situation lost all connection with music somewhere along the road.
Lets just leave these so-called "emo" kids (I think the term is total nonsense) to play with themselves. If they are as "emosexual" or as suicidal as people say they are, their sub genre will eventually fade out.

exactly my point headwan. to expand on it, ye, we dont like certain subgenres among us, but that doesn;t mean we will use violence to get our point across. yes, we may curse and swear at them in a drunken rage, but we're not stupid enough to cause trouble outright and lose the chance to play music instead.
My mistake, so then what do you suggest to do instead of beating them up?
