Jim Root Telecaster

'72 Reissue Telecaster Deluxe

I heard EMGs are only good for distortion not much so good on cleans,True or False? Please help me out if these 2 guitar are worth buying

Oh how about Strats? like Fender American deluxe Hss one, can it play the genre that i play?

my approach was a little different; i humbuckered the Tele I really like. the guitar has to conform to my needs, not the other way round:

my American Std Telecaster with Duncan Hotrails in the bridge position...

Get a Kotzen! A Kotzen Tele! Yummy! If got moola lah....

I guess metal and punk and all that get a Jim Root or John 5 would be cool. Or follow the above advice and get a humbuckers to drop into your tele.

the jim root telecaster got a mahogany body... while the '72 got an alder... if you are looking for the tele twang, then get the one with alder...

If you can afford it, try the Fender Telecaster Deluxe? Looks exactly like the Squier Telecaster Custom above but with two humbuckers (in the Tele deluxe above, the pickups are humbucker-sized singlecoils). In my opinion, any guitar can play metal as long as it has humbucking pickups. Singlecoils can do it too but you get more power and less feedback with humbckers.

Alternatively, you could get a standard Tele and replace the bridge singlecoil with a singlecoil-sized humbucker, like the Seymour Duncan Hotrails in Subversion's Tele's bridge position.

Yeah, the Squire tele deluxe comes in two models, actually. One with P90s (pictured) and one with humbuckers. From what I've heard, build quality, sound and playability are superb for the price.

hmm after reading is the fender 72 deluxe or the 72 thinline better? or no diff?

Take note that there will be a tonal difference to a certain extent between the deluxe and the thinline. Being a semi-hollow body, the thinline will have a more hollow, twangier sound than the deluxe.
