Fender Humbucking Telecasters

really envy neuro182's tele mods.. i'm from KL and i just send my squier telecustom to change the pots.. i've been thinking to change the stock humbuckers with a good one but cant decide.. any suggestions here?

I find the Tele versatile for just about anything..classic rock, blues rock, even punk (Joe Strummer of The Clash uses one) but there's really something magic sounding of the Tele :)

I may wanna put a humbucker at the neck position of my Tele, then I can post the pic here if I decide to do the HB mod :)

TDPRI.com has a Tele on YouTube thread that is my favorite. You will realize every genre has a Tele and I love the surprises it brings up. Lilly Allen? Wow.

I relate to superpotato_30 pain, but well Fender or Tele makers will be happy to have their guitar used for many diff genres. In a way, it boost sales and help promote Tele as an all-rounder guitar (not only for blues and country). Check these guys out.

Man, i've been dreaming of having a humbucking tele since i saw andy summers. it's been that little itch that i've yet to scratch thus far, but hoping too within this year or early next year =D

Looking at all the modifications some of the humbucker-equipped Teles go through (e.g. John 5 sig), using a Tele seems to be more of an aesthetic choice rather than a choice made to cater to specific genres, since a Jim Root Tele with EMGs and a mahogany body would sound worlds apart from a '52 RI with single coils and an ash body.

+1 to vintage teles.

I think the rule of thumb is to have a good idea about how the traditional tele sounds and feels like before making a decision, cos ultimately all modern teles are born from the vintage one. I was a little apprehensive about sticking to the traditional single coils when i first got my tele, but now im loving them :D

i always had this vision of a perfect tele for me, and it deviated so far from being a " traditional" tele.

i've always liked teles just that, could never bond with em
