Just wanna know what's the best stuff you guys have heard so far this year.

For me it's Portishead's album Third. Been listening to it non-stop since I bought it a few weeks ago. It's mind blowing, best thing I have heard in years.

I'll start the ball rolling... To me, it has to be slipknot's new album all hope is gone. Kicked metallica's death magnetic ass right down the drain... Althought i still love metallica more though

For me,there can't be an exact favourite as i tends to listen to a wide genre. Below are a few that i really enjoyed after purchasing

Zero Sequence - Flight of Transcendence (CD)
John Mayer - where the light is (DVD)
Paul Gilbert - Silence followed by a deafening roar (CD)

I like Shogun by Trivium ^_^

Never really listen to them but i like their graphic from what i saw on magazine :)

sigur rós - með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

xD They make good music.

And also

Coldplay - Viva la vida

Opeth - Watershed
Opeth - The Roundhouse Tapes
Metallica - Death Magnetic
John Mayer - where the light is
Paul Gilbert - Silence followed by a deafening roar
David Gilmour - Live In Gdansk

Slipknot's All Hope Is gone is quite disappointing to me, turn out to be too mellow. Here's my list in no particular order what so ever.
Metallica - Death Magnetic
Underoath - Lost In The Sound of Separation
Avenged Sevenfold - Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough
Disturbed - Indestructible

For me its gonna be A7X self entitled album
Btw, Sop953 where did u get Avenged Sevenfold - Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough? I was searchin high and low for it man.. couldnt get it till now...

John Mayer's acoustic set on the Where The Light Is DVD was KILLER.

Steve Jordan rocked on the drums as well.

The only album I've even bought this year was the re-release of Meikos self-titled CD, which was a pretty good album :} some of the tracks were re-mixed nicely and I liked the addition of her song Boys with Grilfriends. I don't think it is the best album of 2008, but its definitely a pretty good one :]

i've been guilty of not listening to a lot of albums this year, for some reason I've been stuck listening to vinyl rips from the 60s and 70s.

so far one of the few best albums for me was definitely Cut Copy - In Ghost Colors. There were quite a large number of good rap albums/mixtapes this year. Nas - Nigger/untitled is great so far. Islands - Arm's Way is great (still no RTTS, in my opinion)

Also Vampire Weekend and My Morning Jacket deserves a mention for putting out a couple of good albums, and I'm slowly making my way through TV on the Radio's new album, and it's been excellent.

edit: also M83 - Saturdays=Youth
