faulty tone pot or connection?

Hi there all,

My tone pot is acting up all wierdly after I did some custom rewiring. There are buzzes and cracking noises when I play anytime the tone knob is rolled all the way up. If the tone knob is rolled down, the cracking noises is gone? As I gradually increase the tone knob, the cracking noise gradually increases as I play a note.

Could it be bad soldering or grounding issues?

Not sure... What's your guitar? Did you follow a wiring diagram?
