Fasten Your Seatbelts! - 20th January 2007

From what I noticed, when a band perform on stage, they perform with a mixture of anxiety and emotions, thus they would probably be too occupied to even bother about distractions from the crowd or the photographers for this matter.

Although it might be a quite offensive to have lights all burst out at their face, it's much more comforting to see that the end product is something that they could look back on, which I think would serve as a lifetime of good memories rather than a moment of displease.

I hope you guys have some common understanding on this matter.

Just my opinion.

let me say this from a band's point of view.
the stage lights are actually the most distracting of them all.

i played 2 sets at DXO that night (one for FYS and one for SOFT@DXO) and both sets had a few photographers and videographers arnd.
the flashes frpm photogs or light from the video cam didnt bother me at all.

the main distraction wld have probably been the stage lights but as a performer one shoud learn to deal with such things cos it is what adds on to the energy and vibe of your set.

playing in a band, i LOVE it when photographers take photos. use all the flash and whatever you'd like, it's my honour to be on the other side of your lens! Your craft helps capture ours, and i respect that deeply.

=)
