Epiphone semi/hollows or similar

Yeah I'm not looking to spend more than $1k for sure. I think I can tell what a good and bad tone is lol. The reason why I say I don't know what "warmth" is with regards to instruments/etc is because I think it's just marketing-speak. I don't wanna start a flame war thanks LOL.

Anything else, is via AUs :D

I gotta say though, this thread has been extremely helpful. Thanks for all the replies! Really appreciate it.

(The only thing that bugs me is this long wait for my post to actually show up. Whats up with that? Is it supposed to be like this?)

EDIT: LOL OK, now this post appears immediately but seems my previous one disappeared.

@Iwantdigimon: hey if you're ever thinking of letting yr Casino go, let me know :) I'm the guy who texted you about it over last weekend.

which ac4 is that?
the new ac4tv something?

bell sound thing you guys mention, how does it sound like?
distortion like angus or which led zep song? any audio/video sample?

if you ask me i won't call that a bell. it lacks the chimey feeling dude showed ._. my opinion only though

bell like tone is most obvious played in the middle pickup selector position. gregor hilden wasnt using the middle position.

another good example is in the how the west was won album. heartbreaker. the solo when only page is playing.

Actually, I'll be honest. I want a semi/hollow because of William Reid's sound LOL!

I guess you're talking about jangly sound by this kind of semi-hollows;)

Rickenbacker 360

the rickenbacker kind of stole the show.. hehe
that jamc just like honey, remind me sort of scott's simple minds
jim's epi look like a black sheraton? its that sharp, lotsa mid & highs u want?

if it means anything to you, here's a quote frm wiki -

"The early sound of The Jesus and Mary Chain (JAMC) was defined by Reid's extremely distorted and feedback laden hollowbody guitar work,
often using the Shin-ei Companion WF-8 fuzz/wah box to get his unique sound, which verged on white noise."

@eieio:
Not sure what you mean by terminology lol. The clip's pretty old (3 yrs+ ?) and he's got a newer album out since then (also good, but a lot less of the Kevin Shields fixation LOL)

Anyway, AUs would be about the same as VSTs...audio plug-ins :) !
