Electro-Harmonix Stereo Memory Man pedal

im using the deluxe memory man .. and its really nice.
very easy to ge that U2 - "The Edge" kinda thing going.

i think the stereo memory man will be just as good.

very nice !!! not the re-issue tho ...with ext power adapter coz some has the inherent unpleasant whine ....

The repeats kinda follows ur pickin ...weird but nice !!

Hm got another question for this thread, how does it compare to the T-Rex Replica? I'm trying to make a choice between these two delays.

The stereo MM has really little delay time... slapback but any more.. erm... you better look elsewhere.

Mesto, the T-Rex Replica is like that much more expensive! :D Has more delay time and has tap temp. Its also a digital delay - google on the differences.

If you like tap tempo, Carl Martin has a bigger version of the Delayla and thats coming to Davis... < 400. Hehehehe...

Or echo park.

Or echohead.

Stereo memory man... way too big for a slapback shorty delay cum chorus.

Waste time only.

I'll go for the Deluxe Memory Man, now thats da bomb. Using it side by side with the Line6 DL4 DMM mode... the L6 cannot fight... no horse run. I can't take it out from my pedal board. See? Even when not connected its on my pedalboard!

Detractors will like to call it muddy. Those who like it will call it warm and fuzzy. Both vintage mojo and reissues may or may not have bugs and hisses but so far I've tried(I've tried a lot lah, everytime sell one also must plug in and delay lay lay laeh laehh laehhhhhhwoooooweeeeetttttbruaaaaarrrggghhhhh oscillation) most of them seems ok.

In fact the old mojo ones I find have a bit of noise due to old filter caps and poor power supply regulation.

What do I know.... I'm just the Kampung Boy who brought in EH sometime back in the 90s.... when EH was still boutique... hur hur hur....

ok ed... we know that you know :D and you were tha man since the 90's

Yes the DMM is a jem ... a must have for a delay fan.

I can't afford or justify getting one at tha moment ....
Btw the chorus is like aiyooo *$#3@%

just imho, dont chop me :D

between dmm and replica, the important thing is that what are the features that you want in the delay

1) Digital/analog
2) size of the pedal in relation to estate space on pedalboard
3) is tap tempo a must for u or you will never use tap tempo
4) does modulated delay(dmm) sounds good to you?
5) how much time do you expect from the delay?
6) is making noises/oscillation part of your playing?

if able to answer some of that, you might already have the answer which one might be more suitable. If not, it might be good to look for places with those 2 to try out first. At the very last, just get any one of the one and play with it. It wont disappoint..

Mr.Cow the Em-5 does the repeats nice and warm ...but the DMM is more than a repeat generator ..... bro pathein bro ...care to eloborate futher ...you the man for the "words" ... 8)

No... pls, no osciliation.. pls... cannot.. no!

Actually, I find that some of the things I compose nowadays, could use noise/osciliation. Hmmm.

hehe, like what sonic youth said a long long time ago, confusion is next!

but then, just not to create more confusion. I was just thinking, often there be questions/answer/comparison thoughts between pedals. But ultimately, does we know what we want in the first place?

Heh, most of time i didnt know, thus i buy and play, then i know..

ohmmmmmmho

heh, yes shredbroshred, oscillation can be used in your composition as well.

What i can think of now, turn the time knob of the delay to tune the oscillation in pitch with your guitar soloing and over dub in the back ground adding reverb, adding texture..
