Electric shock

No i don't mean those high current shock-you-to-death those kind. Haha here's the full story...

I just bought a small fry recently ( last fri to be exact ) , i'm running the small fry through an Ad30vt , Using a 1 spot 9v power adaptor. And whenever the pedal is on, i'll experience minor shocks through the guitar. I'm concerned because i'm not sure if its the problem of the Amplifier? It is not earthed firstly.

Yet i have no similar problem if i run my xtlive into the amp, only when i switch to the small fry. So the second question now is could it be the problem of the One spot adaptor or the Small Fry itself?

Thank you for listening : )

ok but there is also a buzzing sound whenever i leave the volume on but i do not play anything on it.. i wonder what could have contributed to this.

Definitely the amp.. once ground the shocks and humming will go away... at least thats my experience..

Cheers

I used to have the same problem a long time ago with my Peavey. I changed my amp plug from 2 pin to 3 pin and my electric shock problem was solved.

Hi,

Most of these amplifiers comes with euro 2 pin - 2 slot earth plugs.
The Amplifier itself, I believed is already grounded.
In Singapore, we are using the British Standard Plugs and Sockets.

Just change the Original Plug 2-Pin to a British Standard 3 Pin configuration and it will solve your Shock...

Humming and Minor shocks are due to build up of static electricity mainly from the pickups...but once you change the plugs, it will be gone.

Remember, Green for Earth (which is the top Pin), and Blue or Red for Live (connected to Fuse), and Brown or Black for Neutral...

Hope this helps...

Its the AMP ...please do a search lah fellas ...this donkey has been beaten to death already ....aiyooooooooooo.

AMP 3 PIN PLUG PERIOD !!

Lol.. I'm too lazy to ground my own amp.. After endless static incidents, I got myself some furry hotel kinda slippers to wear when I'm playing guitar!
Got extra mojo siah.. Hahaha..
But yeah no more static pain.. Hub's idea so I just copied.. :???:

haha that's great. thanks for the website.

I have asked my church's faithful soundman to help me with the amp problem. We'll see how it goes ya .
Cheers to all those who contributed. :D
