Electric 12 String Guitars

Hey guys

Does anyone here use electric 12 string guitars? I'm not talking about acoustics with pickups, but rather electric ones such as the Fender XII.

I'm currently using an acoustic 12 string with a pickup, and I'm thinking of selling it and buying an electric one... But I would like to try one first. Are there any shops in Singapore that carry electric 12 strings? What is the approximate price-range? For $400, would I be able to get a decent used one? Not a Rickenbacker lah, something much cheaper :lol:

I was at excelsior basement (peninsula) and i asked several shops whether they carry electric 12 strings, but none had them. Does anyone know of any shop in Singapore that carries electric 12 strings? Other than Rickenbackers..

Music Ensemble (Paradiz Centre basement 1) sells daisy rock guitars. They do have a semi-hollow model in white with 12 strings. Mini buckers, shiok sound.

I saw one at SL sims drive the other day. Double-neck sg, Epiphone one, but dang it was heavy! It was at, if I'm not wrong, $1765.

you dont need 12 or 17 fingers to play a 12 string guitar.. you fret 2 strings at the same time. it gives you a very nice chimey chorus effect. well-known songs like hotel california and stairway to heaven utilize such a guitar.

the cheapest one, and probably the only one in sg, you can find is the daisy rock 12 string guitar. i used to have 1, but sold it to another softie. nice guitar, but I don't find it bright enough.

however, i do suggest saving up to get the fender XII. ishibashi sells it.

the last resort, is ebay. sometimes you can get great deals.

I know Fender does... but not sure if Swee Lee has it in...
