Driving to Malaysia

If you guys have the intentions of driving to Malaysia please make sure you do not carry any pirated CD or DVD in your car. There are police spot check along the highway. If they find any of these they will fine you RM400 per disc. These bastards are targeting at Singapore registered cars. Recently, my friend had two pirated rock concert DVD which they got them from KL. But, on the way back they were stopped by the police and demanded a car search and later found the discs.
Friends, why go to Malaysia, they are keeping an eye on us.

1) So the focus should be on us, singaporean, going there to get dodgy illegal dvd which by itself is not right and infringment of anti piracy law and got caught by law enforcer doing their duty

or

2) Singaporean in dodgy dealings(act of getting pirated dvd) got caught by law enforcers doing their rightful duty and felt wrongly targeted and subjected to discrimination due to commiting an offence which by itself is not right

or

3) We singaporean can get targeted easily by having dodgy dealings in other country

what would be wrong thing in here?

oh, interestinly, one pack of tax evaded ciggies locally can get us fine $500sgd, so i guess $400rm for 1 pirated dvd can be logical. Not going into whether fine money is "offcial price" or kopi money, since the focus imho, would still be on getting caught for having pirated item and not on the integrity of law enforces and being targeted/discriminate against for being who we are.

Haha, times are bad...so Malaysian police need to cari makan. As usual, they are likely to ask if you want a "receipt" (pay RM400 fine) or "no receipt" (settle on the spot....RM20-50 per police). Anyway, the kopi money the police collected from illegal/pirated CD syndicates are quite massive already. ;)

they kena caught once doesnt mean everyone also will get caught liddat right?U all can dun be so stereotype anot? i juz went to malaysia last week with dozens of pirated music cds and around 6 pirated movie dvds in my car got police doing spot check i also nv tio caught. somemore i windshield down full blast metal music:D

the moral of the story,

fine for pirated cd/dvd is RM400 per disc.

that means we must adjust the bribe accordingly.

2 reasons why malaysians target us:

1. we always do this kind of shit
2. got 'chance'

really, well...

Got information from a reliable source that Singapore drivers actually owe fines for traffic offences on the expressway(mostly speeding) that mounts to millions, and it was told to me that the rough estimation of the amount can improve infrastructure around Johor Bahru and Mellaca.
Not to mention being stupid enough to buy pirated dvds wen nowadays evrytin is on the net, not to mention nex time hide the pirated goods better.
Oh yeah durin daylight dun speed under bridges along the highway. *hint*hint*

ah? easy money. nice cash.
so, if you guys don't wanna be targetted for official receipt, or duit kopi, just follow law, you'll be fine, mostly, i think. haha.

Some Singaporeans tend to attract criminals and cops too easily in Malaysia.

Speeding. I often drive on Malaysian highways and I would say 8/10 Singaporeans cars would speed above the 110 km/h speed limit. Some have the nerve to drive more than 140 km/h, and irritatingly flash their headlights at you if you block their way, even at the maximum stipulated speed limit. In short, they drive like a wild animal just released from their cage (ie. Singapore roads).

Talking loudly. Yep, you can often tell a Singaporean from the locals. Nothing to do with language or accent. It's just volume, loud ones.....especially Singaporean aunties who go to Malaysia for shopping. Listen to their high decibel chatters on how everything is a bargain due to the favourable exchange rates. They sing like a bird too.....cheap! cheap! cheap!

Arrogant swagger and bling bling. Some Singaporeans just like to exude such mannerism when they are in Malaysia, but never in their home country. Don't know why. Plus the bling bling or expensive bags they carry. Are they that ignorant and naive, or do they have a fetish of getting robbed? Indonesian Johor based criminals can smell them from Skudai to Kota Tinggi.

Any Malaysians like to comment? (ps. I'm a Singaporean) :D

Haha.....wait till you see the Malaysian Bengs and Mats modified Proton Wira. They will out-speed Singaporean BMW or Lexus flat out! :D

Ya they modify their car till damn hiong 1. I once saw 1 guy with obviously modified motor proton outspeed a singapore sports car. the sports car look so new, somemore 3k CC
