Honestly if you ask me , I get really offended when I see bands posting threads looking for female keyboardist. Now if the band was an all female band I'm alright with it because it all boils down to comfortability with the same gender.

But what if the band seeking a female keyboardist are all guys? Valentine's Day coming soon........... :roll:

Besides the greatest pianists/keyboardists in the history are mostly men. :lol:
 
hahaha. Amanda Ling. But she doesn't sing la. In my opinion, looks isn't everything. Look at old school rock bands. Eg. KISS they don't look that good without make up either. But they make shit good music. And have a GOLD album... And want female. Hohoh. Sexist!=x
 
if ppl want a band member of such status...it's really their business. every band needs something unique, maybe they've identified it at this stage. TO be v honest, i think having a hot female in a band really counts. How any assholes will give a shit abt electrico if they had a nerd who can play like vitalaj kuprij. This is a the sad fact.so i suggest we leave these bands alone and let them play their music.
 
IMO....Electrico's success today is not based solely that Amanda is in the band...but cos all of them worked hard to acheive what they have today...If getting a hot babe in your band works, let me know....I'll hire strippers at my gigs
 
well xlayar, thats true , but the fact that so many people "know" electrico because of her is also another reason why. But of coz she is not the only reason why they are famous, its because of all the members that put in their hard work into the band. Of course everyone has to work hard towards their dream and definitely all the local bands who have made it big today have done so.
 
i'll say its a bonus and a great boost! :lol: . but depending luh.. if ur band sux, no amt. of boost is gonna help u . but if u band is ok, with that boost, u'll rise to fameeeeeee XD. Talking abt power house vocals, good looks, can compose her own songs, i recently became a fanboi of ayaka (new jpop female singer) :lol:
 
Its a pity for Amanda man. To actually know that her looks sell. I know of electrico through their rough mix. Its sad. Plus shes not that hot anyways.

But, u know what, i think you guys are being unfair to the ladies in this thread. Some bands are just offering some girls an opportunity to be in a band. I don't actually see it as sex sells, coz 90% of the girls in singapore aren't hot(no offense). So lets just leave these bands alone, unless they ask for super duper hot girls who can play keyboards and sing very well.
 
90% not hot? during christmas time,i saw lotsa lotsa lotsa hot ladies in orchard road...i dunno whether they're sporean or tourists

Hmm.

Singapore got no hot girls???? I beg to differ. However you must be fair.. because the laws of nature are very fair.. in a very broad spectrum, looks do not walk hand in hand with mental ability.

Not to offend the good-looking softies here... :P

Just think about it ... how many of those hot girls are over-achievers (in the area of academics / music / sports)? :wink:
 
haha...we're not being sexist here....gals have every right to be in a band as much as a guy....

I dont discriminate gals in bands(actually I find it a trait)....But you dont want people saying 'Oh that band....the one with that chio bu ar?' all the time right?
 
that happens when their skills are average and their looks are above average,naturally the first thing that comes to mind is their looks... :wink:
