so far in my gig at Cuba Libre - lotsa hot chicks there but it seems like Antonio - the frontman is "happening" with the chicks while they dont seem to "eye" the bass player (me) ....

However, it's nice getting applause for my bass solos .... shiok say...heh heh ... especially since I'm really a guitarist...

I realize a tight and cutting low end sound that occasionally happens with live gigs gets a lot of attention. Just my 2 cents. :?

sometimes its down to the player, not the instrument i guess

the beauty of simplicity is one thing, but it pains me to see bassists water down basslines that were meant to be flamboyant, such as rhcp or even some green day covers

some basslines are written so beautifully that they were not meant to be changed. once it changes, the song just dies. everything else falls out of place

the bass player in the band is a very inportant guy,is not the matter of getting the gals is the music that counts
no matter what instrument that you play
im a drummer and a bass player.i play drums professionally and play bass of and on gigs,not pro in bass
i play for the passion of music not for the gals
gals i want to get anytime,not when im playing my music
the bass player and the drummer are the rhythm section in the band V.I.P.
dont forget that
my point to your answer is this
if you play for the music then play for the music
if you play for chicks to get
then dont be a musician
no offences
but i hate that kinda of gesture
no wonder
ppl have different remarks about musician here
