Hi,

Don't see much discussions here regarding Ring Modulators. Hope Ring mod owners can share their experience here. :)

I got a pilot FX andriod ring mod which I had sold. It's cool but at certain settings, it cuts off a whole lot of volume. I was pretty thrilled intially over the andriod, lot's of cool sound while experimenting at home, the price and small footprint are also attractive. But I was dissapointed when I step into the studio for jamming, with the effects engage, the sound just can't cut through at certain settings.

Perhaps it's just me, but what about the rest of you with ring mods? Do you guys have volume drop issue on certain settings?

Share your experience. :D

ring mod is like drinking ice cold chinese tea, weird!

for me, never really took ring mod seriously till having the moog ring mod. It does many sound, tremolo to mosquito squeal to trippy siren throbbing.

didnt encounter volume drop with the moog other than at higer frequency, where the frequency can get close to the end of range of human hearing, thus seem like lower volume

do give it a try on the moog one if got chance, it really has many things features that make it ahead of most ring mod..

trying out a bad ringmod will put you off ringmods for a nong nong time.

moog ones are gootch!

Recently just aquired the moog ring mod from Mr Misse.

Was inspired by how wayne krantz and scott henderson used them so musically on their fusion records and live improvisation.

Never thought it could do such a fabulous tremolo/vibrato. Could even get it sound like an organ with chords. Perfect for getting the organ intro with your guitar on The Whos - Won't get fooled again.

Currently, I am awaiting an adaptor from Mr Misse. He is recommending the EHX 9v+ adaptor. Any info on why you wouldn't recommend it?
