Hi all currently having a boss Metal Zone 2. Thinking of getting other pedals from boss. Any recommendations? Have some ideas but wanna hear frm y'all.. Alrdy have a delay so yea.

Suggestions please :) thanks

yeap.. cause mt2 is a standalone pedal.. its all u will ever need for a metal dist tone, dont need to stack..
and it wont really work that well with modulations cause of its fuzzy tone.. maybe the thing u need next is a pedal tuner?

I stack my MT2 wan...:mrgreen:

haha.. i also stack la.. i stack with a ds-1 at dist 0.. but seriously.. the point is.. u dont need to stack it.. not really necessary..

sorry la I hijack your thread. =D

Ya, what happens if you mod and still stack it?

So there are not pedals to stack with TS-9 or SD-1?

MT2 doesn't cut well in live band settings that why an EQ or an overdrive in front of it is needed.

MT2 = Can of Bees BUT with EQ ---> WIN

What exactly are you trying to achieve with your sound? Gain or Volume boost? You have like at least 500 ++ OD/ Distortion pedals to stack with your Ts9 / SD-1. If I were you I would set it as a gain boost.... medium gain Distortion then stomp the TS9/ SD-1 when I need to be heard when playing solos :)

Something like this -->

Guitar --> Crunchbox / OD3 (insert your preferred pedal here) --> TS9 --> Amp = TONE

When i had Metal Zone, i used it with Boss GE7 Graphic EQ at the back.
I'll set the MT2 to the tone i liked best and used the GE7 to boost the mids/highs just a little bit for "solos/noises".
The level of the GE7 still set at 0.

I tried putting the GE7 at the front, but it "don't sound as good".
Before i had the GE7, i used a Korg Parametric EQ stompbox the same way too. :mrgreen:

Kernelspy: You're right! I didn't mention what I wanted to get from the pedal. PAISEH!. But what you said is what I wanted (gain boost) for solos.

If I put the TS-9 first instead of the distortion will it make a diff?.
Guitar -> TS-9 -> Crunchbox/DS-1 -> Amp

Which one is worth getting? TS-9 or SD-1?.

Sure...what i do is ... first>>get the "solo" tweaked, where the volume knob on my guitar is at 10(max), pedal and amp gain/volume to desired level.
Now roll down to 9~7 on your guitar ....you get rhythm gain/volume.

This method gives better control and reduces pedal "tap dancing" & noise you get from cascading.

When you cascade, pedals are in "half ass" mode with their gain and volume lowered and may sound impressive but lack lots more in character and feel....all that mush!!

Do i make sense ? :)
