Combined SOFT Jam No. 2

...

OKOK i gave up man. decided to post it on myspace instead. Less hassle.

Well lets see man. I just recorded it today and im quite happy with it too.

But i thought the backing track was too short i copy and pasted it to make it longer. The first part is more funk and distortion part is more santana-ish. i think. Near the end i screwed up a bit cus my fingers stumbled. haha but its aight.

If your interested to know about what i used for the sound, just ask me.

Thnx RoRk for passing me the backing track.

IMO i think its a bit like Ritchie Blackmore meets BB King. but thats my own strange opinion. ENJOY

heres the link. the song is called - soft jam. if you dont see the song i think theres a slight problem.

hi

argh i missed the jam :O been too busy with WORK work WORk great playing tho from all of you havent got the chance to listen to all of your posts.. i did listen to some inc Dhalif's take .. dhalif good picking there..but somehow u sounded sad ..u sounded like you facing some kinda problem in RL but id say that was a good take, ure one of the polished guitarist in Soft :O besides Shredcow, Paul, nanoshred etc etc ..

thanks for your comment guitarcritic.. yeah been shitty lately, bandless and stuff.. and i just wanted to join in some strings fun.. \m/ kudos to everyone who played on the track.. everyone's impressive on it... :)

Badger bro, you asked for my opinion in the wrong thread lah dude. Anyways, my reply is here, in its proper place. Yah, I heard your stuff. It's alright. Seriously, everyone did ok but a few stood out - Slowish, Nanoshred, Bam, Paul, and a couple others were quite interesting.
Yours was ok only because I didn't hear anything that made your input special. You can certainly play well but you have to look into yourself and ask yourself how can you make yourself stand out from the crowd. Not just different but better.
If anything, this Jam was an eye opener and hopefully a lesson for all of us in that we can readily see that everyone can certainly put their .02 cents into it but more importantly, what can each of us do that will make us special players?

Cheers
RoRK

Hmm.

Hi BlackMoo, my gear used was my G-400 on neck pickup. On the pedalboard the only pedals engaged were the Daddy O overdrive and EQ... with the wah engaged during the middle bits.

All pedals into my Vox Pathfinder 15R, miked up with a crappy panasonic microphone via an alesis 8-track mixer into my Laptop and mixed without any EQ tweaking with Adobe Audition.

And oh yes.. I just added a tad of reverb to the lead track is all.
