hey edder do u still mod ? i thought the Vox would sound better thru bypass..just a thought haha

Uh...
The TB mod doesn't turn a wah better sounding... it just makes for a complete bypass of the wah circuitry... otherwise, with old school wah circuits, you will have a lot of treble bleed when the wah is bypassed.

With regards to improving wah tone, you might find better results with a swap of the Pot.

I am going to grab some metronomes cuz I need to fix my rhythm tempo problems and also put some deposit for the pod x3 live for recording purposes and that new efx send return function. much cheaper than the gt-8 i was eyeing...

hi guys

im really thinking of getting an amp soon, and it caught my attention that city music has the vox ac30cch (head)

any comments on this amp? to those of you who've had the opportunity of trying it.
thanks

the AC30CCH is a wonderful amp if you value cleans & non-high gain applications (wish it has a midrange control...).

Funny why not many of us mentioned abt the new line 6 tube amp, designed by bogner n line 6...

Anyone tested yet? I was tempted to, but then again scared of the B word.

The 'B' word means: the higher price. The price tags for those Bogners are pretty high.

Perhaps not many of us can afford such amps, that's why the little interest/discussion. ;)

Dear Softies,

The Line 6 Bogner amps are pretty affordable as compared many other tube amps in the market. These are the most affordable Bogner amps that any guitarist will find.

Here are the year end sale prices:
Spider Valve 112 - S$915
Spider Valve 212 - S$1090
Spider Valve HD100 - S$1035
Spider Valve Cabinet - S$915

Do drop by to test them out. You are more than welcome to bring along your own guitars to try out the Spider Valve amps.

Cheers!

Should get the custom acoustic solid top guitars or should i get the ovation celebrity series? Any recommendations? Thanks alot :) I have a budget of about 500 bucks.

both are good choices, i suggest you try both and see you prefer which one. either way you won't go wrong. happy shopping!

i think i saw you already lah. with there with 2 other friends and when mike was showing the variax? the variax is cool. Like the baby blue or is it green one. I think Variax sunbursts are ugly. The wood used are not pretty enough for sunburst.

The B word i was refering to was not bogner, its more scary... BUY!!!!

Agree that the line 6/bogner amp is realli priced at a attractive range

Thanx alot man! however, I'm quite skeptical about ovation guitars due to their plastic back, DUH! It looks good but not too sure about its tone. I think i will go down to test their guitars and maybe try out some cort and the ibanez artwood series at other shops.

good Job City Music

My shopping experience during City Music year end sale has been really AMAZING. Dhalif was really really helpful when i dropped by a couple of times to try out and compare between different products. Dhalif also explained and demo-ed to me in detail until i really really understand how to use the product!
I Finally bought the Zoom G7.1ut and planning to drop by again to purchase a Martin!! I think many other stores can use CityMusic's example to improve their service and customer relations... Definitely a happy customer here!. =D

i agree on the customer relations part. even the BOSS of the shop, attends to the customer with patience and explain everything in details abt a product. and show the difference in diff models and also how to use them. very happy at serving. and i am amazed by it. as for Dhalif and some stuff there! muhahaha!!! they are very friendly too!

ditto on the boss part. when i was introduced to him, i didn't realise he was the boss! he didn't give me the "i'mtheboss" airs and was very cool.

haha ovation is good actually, the "plastic" back (actually the correct term is lyrachord, not plastic) makes the guitar much more solid, reliable, sturdy, durable and less prone to wood damages etc in our humid climate. when you hit the guitar at the back you won't be afraid of it getting chips and dings. some people will prefer the ovation body because it's smaller and fits them better. tone wise, they are good! they also have built in electronics so you have the option of plugging them in, in future if you need to perform in public.

that being said it's a good idea to shop around, try different guitars and see which guitar gives you better feel and sound. like maybe you'll prefer the big size of a dreadnought or you'll prefer how a smaller ovation fits better with your body
