Cheap small keyboard that goes with Sonar?

If 49 keys is toomuch for you..then how many keys you need ? an octave enough ?....... :D

Go & buy the creative prodikeys..They have some refurbished at the Jurong Showroom for half price....

Actually, loop-based musicians only need about an octave of keys. That's why there's a market for keys like Oxygen8. They don't need to play like a keyboardist. Only need it to trigger loops, use it for drum lines (which is basically less than an octave - a C to a B), and simple bass lines. If they need more than an octave, they can always transpose the keys up or down.

very true =) ....

dance musician too!

and even the cute and powerful MicroKORG ... with proper practice of the octave button, can do wonders ..... hahaha....

lol, you can't be carrying about a full scale keyboard to parties or clubs right (If you're some pro mixer )

Btw what do those knobs on top do of the oxygen8 ? From the name i can't figure what they are. Are they EQ or switching effects? ( Speaking in the sense of guitar effectors )

yes, very important feature when playing gigs in smoky clubs. unfortunately u have to buy the breath control unit separately from M-audio, hook it up to the oxygen8.

guys .... u're totally off topic and r u just trying to be funny?

sigh ....

the knob are just to control MIDI value. and u can hook up all those knob and sliders (does 8 have sliders? dun think so rite? ... anyway .. mine have) to any designated control that u wish. It can be volume (but u have it already ... ) ... Pan, or actually really anything in ur soft synth programme. or VST ....

depends ..... really =) ... u can set it urself .... all those knobs ... but if u neva set it ... it serves no function ... just will be there......

is the Axyz Controller dome useful or good?

wow! that's something to consider.
at S$275, not bad.

Always like contollers like Korg wavestation X-Y joystick,
bought a K25 last year end and end-up the XY joystick
turns out to be a mouse contoller.

I'm impressed by Roland's D-Beam,
now Alesis has this unique Axyz controller.

I'm also considering a M-audio Axiom.

so many gear, so little time... and of course very little $money$ :smt033

:D

Bong,

You never endup buying gear....there is always something which comes new with new features...But we are not sure howmuch we are gaining back on our investment...

oh yes, tis is what I've realized... endup the maufacturers are the ones that gain ???!!!

just like the dot com days, the people who got rich are the IT companies like SUN, HP, CISCO, etc... not the dot com, maybe only a handful.

in the gold rush, the people who made $$$ are the tools maker, not the gold digger ???!!!

anyway, tis is a hobby to me.

I doing some p/t work, not much $$$, but enuff to cover buy/trade gear.

yo! thank you for the advice.

I start to play the 88keys again after a long break today - SHIOK !!!
playing music nowadays gives more satisfaction then music sequencing.

playing music nowadays gives more satisfaction then music sequencing

Yes, must never forget playing! Sequencing is tedious and time consuming. Satisfaction return is not immediate like just playing. You only get satisfaction from sequencing after people listen to it and give positive comments - completing it takes eons sometimes.

:D

Bong,

in the gold rush, the people who made $$$ are the tools maker, not the gold digger ???!!!

They use tools and dig gold.....atleast something to gain.... :o

But we :o are digging at the lorongs of Geylang..with our own money and tools...

There is no end to the gear war or the customer satisfaction....

As you said, the best satisfaction to a keyboardist is play hands on everyday with piece of mind....atleast 20 minutes before go to sleep... :D
