Is this the end of morality, as Mr Mikemann had put it? If you have spoken your heart, are you going to stop do so in the future because things do not do your way this time? If the govt does not buy your reasoning this time, does it make the govt unfit to rule? If all the MPs and Ministers are against gambling but they still go ahead with the "casino", is this illogical?
Let's grow up, Life is not polarised. The decision tree is not just two or three branches. I'm not suggesting that anyone should now back down on what they have stood for just because a decision is made, or for that matter any other issues in the future.
I am suggesting that one should even work harder to dissuade your friends and family members from gambling because you strongly believes that gambling is a social ill and it destroys family and lives. Tell them not to buy 4-Ds and Toto, not to play mahjong, not to punt on the stock market, not to even go for casual bets because you believe they are all gambling in different manifestation and are addictive. This is the kind of man that deserves 100% respect, even from the govt.
