Boutique Gear: When did you fall for them?

That weird ass boost you are talking about is so obvious. Perhaps you are still on your honeymoon with your echo park, but i am sure its not miss-able. Especially if you have gain on. People i know who own the echo park also notice this. It is the main reason why i sold my echopark.

It sounds good and it has all functions i will ever need, plus the best tap tempo function. But the buffer and the boost altered the sound way too much. It is highly recommeneded to people who leave the delay on all the time though.

hmm.. got la, i guess but its still ok, but so far i can control the boost so i guess its ok for me (for now). but im getting a feeling that i would be selling it in the long term to ppl interested in it...so guess its the way of the echoczar next year.. eesh.

now wouldnt it be cool if someone were to come up with an echopark mod to "cushion" the boost when its on, and the cushion comes off when its off?
sth to think abt i guess

I think its cos of the Toneczar that he has ordered

I never really gelled with the AD9. I feel it is overhyped. The Maxon AD9 on the other hand, might be surprisingly good.

Some simple comparison.
Keeley/Ibanez AD-9 - China made reissue delay bucket chip. You cannot really tweak for more delay time w/o screwing up your sound.

Maxon AD-9 - Expensive delay chip though I'm not sure if it is NOS. Can tweak for another 200ms for a jolly good for total of 500ms w/o sounding like poo.

Some delay I'm looking at... Memory Lane, Maxon AD999, Blackbox Quicksilver.

ok..could u share some links to more analog delay pedals? I can't quite find anywhere, misse or fierce...seems like my options are quite limited..thanks..

Well, for the price of what? 151USD, its pretty cheap. :D You can DIY some cool design if thats what you want.

Btw, the Deeelay is BACK. no more out of stock.

Google the below to find out more about the below pedals.

Analog Delay:
Ibanez - AD-9 (300ms/buffered bypass)
Keeley - AD-9 (300ms/true bypass)
Maxon - AD9 (300ms/true bypass)
Maxon - AD-999 (900ms/true bypass)
Diamond - Memory Lane (550ms/tap tempo/true bypass)
Toneczar - Echoczar (1000ms/2 channel + feedback/true bypass)
EHX - Deluxe Memory Man (500ms/true bypass)
Jacques - The Prisoner (300ms/buffered bypass)

Can't think of more at the moment.

Arion SAD-1
Boss DM 2
Johnson Analog Delay
Moog Analog Delay

There are tons and tons of cheap old analog pedals, some by ibanez or arion and some by 'no name' brands. Their analog delayed sound may be nice but I would reckon their buffered bypass would be quite bad.

The AD999 is quite an incredible pedal and even has a 4PDT inside:

which may make it a bit fragile and extremely troublesome to fix.

I've just ordered one of these.

Apparently, its very similiar to the Zvex SHO, as the maker touts it to be, but at a fraction of the price.

60USD.

When it comes in, around 2wks, I'll give you all a heads up.

Well, will try to have an a/b with the Catalinabread SCP (Ciel you got that) and a Zvek SHO (if i can find one).
