The OC-2 works best with the neck pup and above the 7th fret. I placed the OC-2 after the skreddy & blackstone, before the Sansamp Original.
0:01- 0:15: The OC-2 has issues tracking this low, esp with the octave 2 on
0:15 - 0:30: Tracking is much improved from the 7th fret on
0:30 - 0:45: Dynamics are interpreted okay... just okay
0:45 - 0:52: Retarded-ly good tracking!
0:52 - end: With distortion...
Note, the octaves lack any tonal characteristics of the original tone. Even with distortion. ANd the OC-2 was after the distortion pedals.
I've a taiwan version of the OC-2. I think mine is busted cos it sounds nothing like yours. too muddy & produces some farting noises :? .
I've heard that the boss OC-2 is the secret weapon of some famous players like petrucci & malmsteen. only thing is, I cant hear them using it with my ears
Eh. Mine is also MIT leh. Hmmm.... There's farting if used to play more than 1 note. CHords DO NOT work on the OC-2. Double stops will cause the tracker to rapidly switch between notes.
Its a pretty nifty gadget, now I'm putting it before my Skreddy, so theres a touch more character to the octaves, they finally do get distorted.
Main problem with this thing, it ain't true bypass.
they dun track very well.... for the ultimate in octaving listen to the HOG ooooooo i like, John Fruciante uses it or the POG on some tracks of the new album.
any recordings of the crunchbox? looks good and getting good reviews. or anyone selling off their dirtboxes here? th e Jekyll&Hyde isn't cutting it for me.
just mod the boss lah.. haha.. just modded my boss sd-1 and i must say it sounds very transparent.. as for the wah.. the budget alt. is to get a Vox V847, mod for true bypass and other stuff and change the inductor and you've got a nice wah liao..
