wow.. thats cool.. yea... ill get str from michael den... cool... would love to hear how it sounds.. any one here tried or has the sonic stomp?? all reviews says it takes e blanket off ur amp.. wonder how it chges the tone.. i called sweelee to check.. but they dun bring in the sonic stomp..

thks..

its a wonderful pedal... i use it all the time...just makes everything sound better.
dunno how. but its a very obvious effect. step on it..and you'll be like.. "holy shit"

i use it to put in what i think is missing in my tone... or most of the time.. i use it to take out excessive bass or treble and give an overall clarity to my sound.

So cool you see the heart you know it's a tremolo already :D

actually i cheated lah. went to your site. heh

but it's a great visual analogy - throbbing heart = tremolo (was that your idea or your artist's?)

nice site, btw. and i must say your artist is quite good!

wow.. thats cool chanmin.. where did you get it from?? i called sweelee and asked they tell me they dont bring in that.. den i juz got a reply in e-mail from them that they bring in..but no stock now.. ??? can pm me where you get it and how much??

thanks

you can use it like the exciter and such, the RC can also be used in the same manner, use it as a line buffer. Give you some of the sparkle back. RC , SCP, SHO can do the job some ppl prefer one to the other. set to unity gain and stick it in front of your board and leave on, tweak to taste.

by setting these clean boost pedals to untiy gain, what then does the pedal do to your tone? does it function like an eq pedal of sorts?

eq alters frequency

boost increases decibel

unity gain means same volume level when the pedal is on in relative when the pedal is off.

Using an RC booster, RC thickens up a tone abit, clearer. Shld be getting an scp for this soon for more sparkle thn the RC. Relegating the RC to boost.

Your tone loses it's high end after going through long lengths of cable. Putting a buffer at the front will drive the signal and will reduce the loss.

Not everybody loves high end though. In the past Brian May and Hendrix used to use those long curly cables with the intention of killing some of the high end frequencies.

Though gear has been evolving and maybe at that time there were constant issues with feedback, tubes and piercing high end frequencies. Now everything is much cleaner and stable, and although you can take out frequencies with eq, you cannot add them back, so a driver is really useful in keeping everything there.

Check out the zvex super hard on demo clip where he does the unity gain thing. You'll hear an increase in 'clarity', 'presence' or 'sparkle'. Similar to what the SCP does. Without them, your sound will be slightly duller.

Very useful pedals as drivers, unfortunately they are very expensive over here. I understand the technology behind them and am experimenting on making one myself, which hopefully will be priced under $200.

so who try before or just talking about the name before even trying?

Tis called GAS... pure unadultered GAS! :D

Anyway, no chance of trying here without buying 1. There's this other EQ pedal that has a mid knob but I can't rem the name... getting very rave reviews!

But I dislike having to have a piece of equipment always on so I can live with my tone... Its just wrong to me...

I think something always on as a tonal control I don't like the idea.

But a buffer being always on, to change your high impedence signal to low impedence, keeping all the natural tone before being sucked out by cable capacitence, well. May work for some who want a pure tone, but not for those like Brian May who enjoyed the tone suck.

gas is understandable, but never dwell too much on things even before trying out. It will make it sound like blindly following, imho

anyway, eq with mid control, for the indie maker side, got this parametric eq

I agree Brundy... Have no fear, I do try my best to research as much as possible on things I cannot try firsthand. But I cannot ensure the GAS meter of others will not rise.

AND YOU GOT IT!!! Thats the eq I was talking about! Pretty sweeet eh? :)

On the subject of buffers, I saw a post on TGP of a simple buffer pedal, 1/2 the size of the MXR box (a square) with a simple input, output and a boost knob (+5db)... retailing for 70 USD? Its an always on box. Twas pretty nice.

Anyway, these boxes are more applicable for those who have lots of cables or plenty of TB boxes.
