hi guys... in case you forgot about this thread. i'm here to revive your GAS :twisted:

the Tubezone, Crunch Box have both been improved with new functions - external brightness switch and midrange control for the Tubezone, Crunch Box now brighter and improved volume taper.

Both will be available only in late Apr. i think i am now considering the Crunch Box (200 SGD) instead of the Tubezone (price increased to about 300 SGD incl shipping)
 
Lol i just spent the last hour reading this thread....

Well my last experience with analog pedals was really bad(thanks to sweelee), but shredcow contaminated me ... so i have set forth to setup a whole chain of analogs...

took out two old pedals of mine...
DOD dfx94 digital delay / sampler
DOD chorus

i guess thats my start...now gotta save up for the rest of the chain...and i figured...I would save up and go boutique.. :D

so what is everyones IDEAL SETUP LIST OF PEDALS....and WHY??

Dude, its a never ending journey. I suggest you go slow. Save then in the meantime, keep reading, be very critical of what you read and always go to that pedalboard drawing board to arrange, rearrange time and again. Then search for ppl who have the pedal, like refer to the SHARE thread above. Then. Only then. Go go buy one.

Its a joy to see someone start a tone quest but its a horrible, empty feeling when you get a great piece of gear that somehow aint your cup of tea.

yeah bet the early adopters are cursing after reading this! now they will be itching to get theirs modded or to sell their old ones to get the newer version.

P.S. if anyone is selling Crunch Box, PM me first ah :wink:

Like what michael has described, the crunch box was designed to be like a marshall on steroids. Think of it as a building block for the EVH brown sound kind of pedal, it's around that kind of tone at least to me.

I haven't received my tube zone to give you a proper description of how it sounds personally to me. Hope that helps and Lifehouse could chip in with what he hears too :D

Yea man SHRED, thats what did it for me last time, cos i just hated the tone that came out of my guitar...i truly love the tone you have....I love Vai's tone but there are things i would change about it ..i just dont know how to describe what thsoe changes are :D its in my head....just dunno how to pen it down....I love petrucci's tone but there also there are thigns i would change...

the reason i always bought multi effectors was cos i liked a variety of tones....sometiems i feel like playing straight out funk...othertimes some gnr kinda rock...sometimes the 70s....sometimes a very very tubey bluesy tone.....sometimes metal...but mainly some nice lead tones like the ones u got...but there was a lot missin in the tone of the multi effector...i just used tothink that without rack mounted effects this is the best one can get...obv i was wrong...

Now am saving up for a nice preamp distortion pedal....cos I got my keyboard amp to run it through....had my eyes on the GT2 and the sansamp classic....
is there any boutique stuff anyone recommends....nothing tooo expensive...defly not more than the classic...but do i have any alternatives?? :D

Oh yeah, search for budget efx. There are some killer ones... and well.. there's the Echoczar. Or who's that guy, ah, pete cornish. His delays rock.
 
hmm u think i should get rid of the DOD delay??i thought I would keep it for a while...was looking out for preamps first:D
