big muff battery wire came off

oh my god the black wire for the battery of my big muff pi came off. i think i pulled it while closing the battery cover lid. tried scotch taping it back but nothing happened.

how do i fix this, where and how much will it cost.

or would it be cheaper for me to get an adaptor?

Its just a matter of soldering it back. If the battery clip is damaged, there are more than a few thousands of them at Sim Lim Tower. At most a dollar for it but I normally pay cents.

tried that too but the old solder doesn't seem to melt. i used my sister's art and craft soldering iron though. or do i have to but new soldering wire? how much would that cost?

your art and craft soldering iron tip is probably badly corroded.

soldering iron cost 10-20 bucks
big roll of solder under 20 bucks

send it to someone to solder it back if you're not planning to spend so much money.

anyone who can solder pickups can do it for you.

I resoldered the battery wire for a russian big muff once. It took me 15 mins to open and close the enclosure, and 20secs to solder.

Dang those screws.

Nope, was the black one. Haven't seen the green ones in person but i'd imagine they have about the same enclosure. :?

Where and what are you buying?

As edder mentioned, you can get these:

At sim lim tower for a few cents.

Or you can find some old unwanted appliances that have that snap and harvest them.

Or if your battery snaps aren't damaged at all, just that the wire broke off on the board side, all you need is to solder it back.

ok i got the wire anyway and soldered the the wire back to the hole but nothing happened. aarrrgh!!!

by the way theblueark, the black wire got got snapped inside that thing in the picture.

If it snapped from the inside of the battery snap you'll probably need a new one. Check your connections with a multimeter after your soldering, would help to make sure your soldering is on too.

Check for other wires ....Eh `are notorious for wire snaps !!
