Hi Metal, thanks for your interest!
And uh guys, you will probably have to wait slightly longer since I'm still waiting for gannie to recce finish Henderson Bridges and for the TS to come back, which if I'm not wrong will be back tomorrow. I have to include her as well because she initiated this idea and I simply don't wanna leave her out as well as all of you.
Although Esplanade is indeed a place where we can have our gathering, it is also a place where other people spend their weekends as well. I consider us some sort of a noise pollution since there will be quite a number of us which I gauged from the positive responses in this thread. I'm still seeing Hong Lim as a suitable gathering spot where we can strum our guitars with not a worry in the world.
Sorry guys, this is getting abit complicated to organize, so I have to take it one step at a time. Our gathering will be probably next weekend at either Esplanade or Hong Lim.
But that still remains to be seen.

Where's this placee , haha sounds interesting.. is it outdoor or indoor btw , got pictures of it haha? , you know if its somewhere under some shelter would be great if it happens to rain on that particular day.
Since I can't really strum at home.. only can pluck cause my parents would killed me , I often practice plucking most of the time.. , sadly its a bit wierd if I were to go out alone somewhere in the middle of a nearby park and strum, sometimes people just look and then they just start asking me if I could play a song for them.. , *wierd encounters* anyway I can't. Not until I get fermilliar with learning a technique called shredding for some songs or so, but there's more than that in the guitar world.. recently when I was at a nearby park just practicing 4 chords, there was a guy who came up to me and asked me wheather I could play metalica songs. And I was , like ahhh , I don't think so.. , kinda thing so yeah was a bit embarassing but yeah it kinda motivated me in some sense cause maybe next time when I learn more techniques or so, I might even be able to play songs I hear from the radio. Thats something I thought I would wanna acheive or try to?
And I know there are some or most *I don't know* above or avg players would spend some money and play at some jam studio or so. But I have absolutely no idea about as most of my friends ain't 70-100% strong-willed or commited into developing strong passion for these kinda things.
Thats when I got interested in this thread, if I could get to know more guitarist friends, I could always learn something new along the way and be inspired by other better guitarist. oh ya btw guys, my msn is magicalneo@hotmail.com , do add me yeah , can keep in touch via messenger too.

yea thats an excellent idea.
fenderrules, maybe u can divide those who want to learn and those who can teach, so maybe u can see the ratio of the 'tutors' to the 'students' kinda thing.
and maybe u can also put up a column to see where they stay like north south east or west, so it would be easier to group them, like according to their areas, so next time if the group gets too big we can split into the different sectors...
but thats just my opinion, you're the organiser afterall.

I'm making a separate thread for the list of newbies and my volunteers, as well as a poll to see which location would be suitable for you.
As for the column to split up into different sectors well, that still remains to be seen. If this one is successful and has fruitful progress then I will definitely do something like that.
I should be finalizing the date and time by this evening. Location-wise you guys have to choose among yourself since it's your show.
I will be making that thread now at the Music Kopitiam section of the forum.

Yeah, it's going fine thanks very much! In fact, I'm very very close to having the finalized date for the outing. I will be having band practice sometime this weekend so I can't be sure wether to have it on a saturday or a sunday.
And I'll scratch Henderson Bridges since the guy go and recce until dunno go where, so chances are that it will be either Hong Lim Speakers Corner or Esplanade.
Really, stay tuned, I'm not kidding you guys. Things just got in the way for me.
