Changing to humbucker - you have to check if the cavity inside your guitar allows for a humbucker to be fit in. Otherwise you have to drill, then I will recommend you get singlecoil sized humbucker.

It's much easier to just get another pickguard for SSH since your guitar is a Fender strat (correct me if I'm wrong here)

You can get new screws from most electronics shop selling screws. Just bring your old screw to compare sizes and fit.

so they do sell HSS pcikguards. *slanted H pup* yea its a Fen Strat, where would i go to to have these checked out? im sensing Davis?

AzNjT: I dun tink got slanted one.. Maybe what u can do now is to check is their is any cavity space under ur pickguard for a humbucker.

like that, it wld be quite impossible to install a bridge humbucker.

AzNjT, taking out the pickguard won't harm your guitar...just don't put it too hard...or you could just take out a few screws and try to peep into the cavity...

Btw, the picture with the red pickguard was the configuration before the slanted one came in, so, yea...

his one haf enuff space underneath to install a humbucker :wink:

unless his guitar cavity is wat most people wld call a "swimming pool"

2004:

stock w/white pickguard.

2005:

w/ brown celluloid 'tortoise-shell' pickguard

w/ gold anodized aluminium pickguard

DarknessFury: although hacking wld be a very convenient & feasible way to install a humbucker for the bridge position, but i would recommend against it cuz the tone might indirectly be affected due to the removal of some mass of wood off the guitar
