Line ups are under confidentiallity in the mean time. But the news will be up soon. BE PATIENT! we're still exactly two months away from the event! but rest assured the lineups will be rocking 
so make sure ya bring ya friends... family.. schoolmates.. grandparents for a rocking experience!
and no hardcore bands will be playing because firstly, i think esplanade has a strict policy about image.. so i dont think those heavy bands will be playing for any baybeats perhaps for the knowledge of many people, we can start the ball rolling by mentioning indie bands some of us know to increase our number of bands we noe?

I dont really understand the sentiment of not allowing hardcore bands to play...
As mentioned, lovemebutch, mysquaredcircle and many other bands have hardcore elements... I dont think hardcore is the issue here..
Wat image is there to be worried about? Worried bout moshing or trouble brewing? As long as there will be hard music regardless whether they're punk or post rock.. there will be kids wanting to bang themselves silly... but its all good.. its just part of the atmosphere...
And maybe that's the reason for security there... however i juz feel that these guys shouldnt be too paranoid when handling the situation.. Maybe they wouldnt act that way, if the kids know how to take care of themselves.. and not start-up trouble unnecessarily.. picking up fights etc..

I noe where you're coming from. and then you have to know where im coming from. sure these bands have hardcore elements. but when i said hardcore, i meant sky in euphoria kind of thing. heavy and chuggy and crazy. wel just put yaself in esplanade's shoes. somehow it doesnt deem fit that a band like as i lay dying would play for baybeats. maybe its just me. but yea i do believe music should move as one. just that, the situation is not right for such things.
ok imagine you're organizing a corporate event as such. you've fancy people. diplomats from other countries are here just sightseeing. and suddenly loud music and screaming comes out of no where. the diplomat is caught off guard. And it pisses him off.
Just think logical and rational.

metal doesnt necessarily means "screaming" and "shouting". thats more like thrash/death metal man...which i dun tink suits well wif Baybeats..
despite all this, its kinda cewl if they can actually slot in a short 1hr duration for metal bands currently doin well in our local scene to perform their stuffs..
