btw just to on topic, i feel that prs among all the brands out there is one thats really good for value. their trems are superb, somehow keeps tuning really stable, can bend 4 semitones up, cant do that with my suhr, it would go outta tune.
i dunno abt the fender tones tho, even with the best coil split and hot humbucker it wouldnt even come close to what a strat supposed to sound like, esp since mahogany isnt a wood famed for its overtones. tried it, a lil gimmicky. but id say the prs is one hell of a players guitar, the wide thin neck is really comfortable, somehow neck doesnt get sticky even when not satin. and the 10" radius doesnt fret out. and man, who dont dig the birds and the tops they have on them, not only the tops, but seriously boutique aside, prs has one of the most amazing finishes ever, only fault i can do is that it doesnt stand up to much weathering. say if theres dirt and u polish it theres gonna be scratches.
i cheat, i use a static duster to remove all the lint and bits of grime first before using a non abrasive flannel.
overall, prs guitars are very well made, a little costly but really good tops and totally no blemishes, no paint bleeds, pretty much a no frills guitar save the fancy top. i esp love their tuners, all you need is a coin.
