wats wrong wif bands tht don shred? wats wrong wif bands tht implement much less guitar duels in their songs TS?

we get it tht u appreciate avenged sevenfold. i appreciate their music too. but u don hav to keep on showing praise after praise after praise. we get it already after 10+ pages.

its like goin around asking and telling ppl tht ____ is hot. lol. do u like __? do u like__? u should like __! u should like___! hahaha. we get it already yea

thers bound to be ppl who wont dig synyster or whoeva. everyone has different tastes and nothing wrong wif sharing wif u who we dig instead.

a7x is mainstream and theres noting wrong with admitting it. even shadows admit it. we respect 7fold music coz their music is good. ive alrdy explained abt syn 4-5 pages back. you will get it why i say a7x are mainstream if you went to the queue last fri. its all abt their fans, mtv and radio. even mothers listen to a7x, how mainstream is tt (and there is nothing wrong with it either). mtv keep playing back afterlife dear god and almost easy back to back on mtv amplified. dont even get me strted on radio =). shads said a7x sold more tickets than kanye west (DAMN MAINSTREAM HIP HOP DUDE) how mainstream is tt!. if i cant change your mind then hopefully you will slowly learn tt a7x aint all that, alot of artist can top a7x easily but you havent explored them yet.

btw you didnt went for a7x concert and u r a big fan of syn??? lol amazing!
alot of my friends went even when they had o lvls maths on tt day. well ~ =)

Regarding dual harmonies, I believe Arctic Monkeys does an impressive job on that.. Of course, they not only blend 2 rhythms (occasionally a lead) with a groovy bass line, all 3 different riffs.. Or how about As I Lay Dying, more heavy, also dual riffs that harmonise together perfectly..

i agree with the mainstream part, it gets sickening for me to play Seize The Day after awhile...

the last 3 or 4 bands i've played in have covered that song.

Not really. When it comes to something as subjective as appreciation of music. Mainstream just means that they're more prominent in the scene, more accessible.

On another note, in the past it was the general consensus that the Earth was the centre of the Solar System. Look how that turned out.

Metalcore is a mainstream music genre... Of course A7x would be a mainstream band! Don't get me wrong - there's nothing wrong with mainstream. You want underground, it's gonna be something like Nile, Napalm Death, Darkthrone, stuff like that. A7x is mainstream, which explains how popular they are. Underground bands like Darkthrone, a lot of people would say, "Darkthrone? Ain't never heard of them."

Mainstream generally appeals to a wider, more easy-going audience, thus its called mainstream. Underground is basically appealing to a smaller, fixed, more specific genre-oriented audience, and not following the general public. That's basically the difference between mainstream and underground. Nothing wrong with either, but of course governments aren't too keen on underground music. :mrgreen::mrgreen:

and some underground bands get so sick of playing without earning money they try to become mainstream by fusing a mainstream genre with their original genre.

and then you have what we call... DEATHCORE! THRASHCORE!

imo a7x just lost their touch after waking the fallen. i gotta admit, i still do enjoy the occasional waking the fallen though.

Alterbridge is a mainstream band and mighty proud of it. And yet Tremonti plays and shreds so much on the album that they had to edit away much of his solos on MTV Vids.

Yet their songs remain relevant, and mature.

And Scott Phillip's drumming is definately thunderous.:twisted:

I find a7x's music new and just somewhat different. Their harmonising and evil-ish leads are quite interesting.. So I do dig Syn.

You got me, dude. I've been into Alter Bridge since their debut came out. In fact, ever since they formed! Mark Tremonti's already an established guitar hero, but Myles Kennedy is awesome too. Check out his solos!
