Hihi..

can anyone give me some good recommendation for strats that are around 1k? no preference for brand.i have read up the reviews but because im new to strat and have no idea what the diff pickups will do to the tone and how to choose a good strats.thats why i would like to have more opinions from the more experience people here.

did any of you tried out the Fernandes strats in yamaha and the Fender ST-45 Japan on luthermusic website?

Thanks alot!

well if u order one from ishibashi it should set u back under 1k with shipping and all. go for the ones made of alder and with the texas special pickups.

I own a jap st43 fender, n its really gd for its price... I havent tried the higher end models yet, but i can say the built is gd quality. But mine is basswood body, not ur regular strat type of tone...

Go for the alder for the strat sound...

get a fender MIJ st72. i think it rocks! very nice looking, alder body, 70s headstock, and US parts right?

i would want one if i got the money! hahaha

Personally, I would never buy a guitar unseen, unplayed. I have friends who ordered beautiful pieces which never quite cut it soundwise. The shops carrying Jap fenders maybe slightly pricier, but dont' forget that after sales service also comes with it. Also, you can try until 'shiok' then you buy. Lesser chances of getting a poor purchase. Imagine buying a lousy piece from ishibashi and then having to sell it at 60-70% of its value 2 weeks later. More costly in my book.

dude, try the 60th Anniversary Fender Strat in Sweelee.... $800 list (i.e. before discount)

the blizzard silver color looks much better in real life than on the web pics.

there's one at the bras basah showroom

depends on the models. there's nothing too disappointing about them, IMO they are worth the asking price. every single cent.

the ST72 is one worthy jap fender to invest in (i own one). the parts a japanese except for the pickups (US).

for those of us who are looking for Jap Fenders to acquire, the 70s models seems to be showing the best craftsmanship + good tones.

Thanks for the recommendation bout the 60th Anniversery strat. But i prefer a rosewood fretboard and a sunburst finish

is ST72-58US found on ishibashi website same as the ST-72 you guys are talking about?

but the body wood is stated as basswood on the website? btw, what are the tonal difference between ST-Vintage(U.S.A.) and Texas Special(U.S.A.)?

one of the MIJ strat that caught my attention is ST62G-80TX. any comment on that?
