Any pedals that can REPLICATE a Mesa Dual Rect type dist?

Setup: LTD Eclipse>Tonelab desktop>Peavey Blazer 158>Shure SM58>Laptop>Your com

Nice and meaty... But very loose. Not tight, so many of your rhythm chords aren't clear.

I think it's your amp speaker.

Also, try playing with a little LESS gain. Might clear things up a bit.;)

Thanks for listening dude(: yea. I really needa get a good amp. Haha. Oh and regarding my pedal gain, here's a surprise, it was only set at 1/4 full. The clarity problem is probably cause of my miking and amp I guess.

Again, like I mentioned previously, it MIGHT not be the amp itself. Might just be the speaker. or could be your pickups. Could be anything...

What does the Peavey come with?

What pedal were you using?

Haha. yea my set up was:

LTD Eclipse with Emgs> Vox Tonelab Desktop > Peavey 158 Blazer with peavey's blue marvel speakers.

My string gauge is 10 13 17 36 52 60. and it was only tuned to Dropped D so it shouldn't really be a problem. The 60 barely even fits into my tuner head.

Hey man,

I totally did not digg your tone, it was too messy and rough and all over the place, chords did not sound clear and i couldnt pay attention to what you were palying with all that Crackling going on in that distortion.

no offence.

I agree with Aznjt.... Too messy, digitally crunchy and no warmth to the tone, felt like too much treble, no mids??

I too dun mean any offence.

To TS...

These are some recordings of mine a while back, do they sound anything that you are looking for?

Hey man :)
thanks for sharing your tracks, I listened to all of them

It MIGHT be what im looking for but i couldnt really tell becuase it was not played in the style I imagined initially. but then again it might not be becuase it has that "warm" ish tone, smooth with a slight grit type thing, i cant describe it.

But if your willing to share your Effects setup and stuff that'd be cool too ;)

this was the kinda tone im looking for, asianinvasion's tone

thats mesa for you no?

that youtube clip isnt anything special, sounded like he scooped the shit out of his recto and dimed the highs and bass. you should be able to nail it on a podxt through a huge headroom clean amp.

Thanks for those comments guys. Appreciate it. Yea I sorta realized after listening to it again that the tone is quite fuzzy and has quite a digital voicing to it. Probably have to try out something else for metal. Was just trying to see how the tonelab could fare. I know it's lower gain amp models sound better though(:

oh hey mattleesc, i was referiong that it wasnt what i was looking for in his preview clips thats all : )

AzNjT: the clips were recorded through a PODxt LIVE directly into an M-Audio FTP recording card... Guitar was an Ibanez RG250 with EMG 81/85...

Hey man Thanks for making a video just for this thread!!

but there wasn't enough gain in the demo though!!
Thanks anyway!

There's a higher gain channel (modern) on the Rectifier which is much heavier like Bullet for my valentine... but I prefer the vintage channel as it's more versatile for a wide array of music.
