Advice on amp

Thin as in which part of the amp? If u speaking about the exterior, its pretty solid to me. Unless u have a habbit of kicking ur amps or throwing them around, i dont think it will be worn or break from regular use :)

As for 50w being too loud, if u play at reasonable volumes it shouldn't be a problem. Any amp, even a 10watter will be too loud if u max everything out. Theres no need for any sound proofing. And theres the power damper to adjust the watt

The 50watt would be a good buy cos they are havin a sale now. Too bad i have already bought the 30wat, should have waited till now damn

i am of the opinion that u do need to turn up the volume to at least 12 o'clock for the amp to breathe and sound at its best. the power attenuator found in the 50W certainly helps but to a limited extent before you start losing tone.

personally i have a Marshall AVT50 at home and I can't turn above 12 o'clock for both volume & gain knobs without getting complaints. (for this Marshall amp the volume and gain are related - put the Gain at 0 and u get no sound and in my case, I had to max the Gain then adjust the volume accordingly).

in any case, i thought a 30W would be just nice for a HDB flat. (So don't be too sad Mobius! :)) Maybe just need a change of speakers. Only happens no one will charge cheap for buying high end speakers and installing them.

No matter which model you get (15/30/50/100W), they are all super value for money la. Besides, the sale at Citymusic shouldn't hold any interested individuals back.. it's a good buy la! :)

i just blew $$ on a guitar, so heh. not at the moment. lest i sell my Marshall amp. but like no guarantee to get that oh-so-nice overdriven sound on that clean channel.

i find the line 6 2 boring. the clean not fantastic, the distortion is grainy... too line 6ish hah but then thats just me.

the main problem is. i have not started to save up now. *laughs. well the another question will be out of topic. saw mick thompson trying out for line6's amplifier. i was awed. i have yet to try it out myself, but i have have hopes for it.
