A S.O.F.T effect pedal. Would you guys be interested? (UPDATED)

Would you guys be interested in a S.O.F.T guitar effect pedal?

I'm hoping to do something like what is done on hauntingmids.com and harmony-central.com. A guitar pedal with soft's url on it so as to promote the website. The pedal will be done by a forum-member (me, or if anyone wants to help i'm cool with it).

Do list what types of effects that you want in the pedal. The circuit should have a low parts count so as to reduce it's cost. Hence, distrotion, fuzz and od's are most preferred.

Dumped the parts on the breadboard. Only clean signal passes through. Gonna troubleshoot tmr. Anybody knows what kind of problems it may have? Faulty transistors?

If you want it to be popular amongst SOFTies, then I think fuzz is out of the question. Unless its a muff clone.

The old Elektra distortion circuit, of which the Beavis Audio Trotsky is based on, is simple and while it is sort of fuzz like, it doesn't have a lot of the peculiarities of a Fuzz Face (which appeal to fans but throw off the rest). It sounds excellent with single coil guitars and you can swap transistors to suit one's taste. With high output humbuckers, it might fart out a little. Excellent stacker for more harmonics and overall saturation. Circuit found on beavis audio website. Simple thing.

A tubescreamer is always welcomed I suppose.

Or make a hybrid - fuzz and overdrive combination. A tubescreamer with the elektra circuit, in a box with 2 footswitches.

Frankly though, I wouldn't be interested unless the design of the SOFT (most probably) dirt pedal has vast improvements over what is available on the market. I might just buy one for support's sake though.

yeah i'd welcome a ts-styled pedal. mild drive, something every guitarist should have esp with the softies here, and me.. who are largely learners and not pros yet.

i'll get it if its non-boutique and made affordable!

if i remember well you can easily have 3 pedals in one:
- ts 808
- boss metal zone
- dod distorsion

using the same diagrams only a 2 resistors change between models.

will you pair the components??

We should have an 'All-star' drive pedal made with the collaboration of all the local pedal-makers/modders with 10 or more (depending on the number of makers) toggle switches that allow any combination of stacking...and call that pedal SOUND.OF.FREAKING.TERROR! (SOFT)

I wouldn't wanna do another TS-clone. There are too many out there already with their 7324439053 way clipping options and voltage mods etc. Plus, singapore's very own edder has got the TS zone covered. ;-)

As for tuners and modulations, sorry, but I can't do those.

As I've said earlier on, I need the parts count to be low, to lower the cost (and also facilitate easy trouble-shooting should the circuit not work) as I want it to be a sub $100 pedal.

The trotsky is a good suggestion. An easy build booster.

I was thinking of doing a fuzz face kinda circuit, with the trannys socketed so the user can swap them for other trannys to get different sounds.

Keep the suggestions coming. I've yet to get the green light from boss SOFT regarding this thing.
