A product to protect guitars when they are out on a stand

Hi everyone!
My name is Erez and I’ve been working on a product I developed which will allow me (and hopefully some of you) to keep my guitars out on a stand, while protecting it from environmental hazards. I call it G-Suit (like a suit for guitars :))
I’m aiming to start a Kickstarter campaign in a month or two and in the meantime would love to get your feedback and honest opinion on the product and my landing page, http://thegsuit.com
Do you think this product can succeed in Singapore?
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Thanks a lot!

Hi Erez

Saw the photo in your website. Will the G-Suit protect only the guitar neck?

You know how mobile phones have protective case/cover, is it possible to make something similar for the guitar?

Hi!
I posted a reply a few minutes ago but i guess it didn't work..

for your question - the products protects the guitars' strings, frets and fretboard - all the way down to the bridge.
I guess it is a bit similar to a mobile phone cover however it protects mostly from environmental hazards such as smoke, dust, humidity etc.

here's a few more photos!

Hey Erez,

What's the material of the cover? Looks interesting, but not sure how fully it can protect from humidity.

Also, does it seal the soundhole to protect the inside of the body from humidity?

Cool idea though! :)

Hi Victor - thanks :D!

It is made of two integrated parts: a central firm body that is designed and shaped to protect the neck, fretboard, frets and strings (it does not cover the sound hole though) and two soft wings for closure. The inner part is covered with velvet and includes anti-slip strips to prevent it from slipping along the neck. It has two hidden rigid ledges on each side of the neck help stabilize it on the body of the guitar and it can be folded.

the cover protects from dust, smoke and other debris which can accumulate on the covered area. I am in contact with a manufacturer of a patented technology which may be implanted in the inner velvet to actively protect the covered parts from corrosion as well. However this will probably be included only in the next version of G-Suit..

its a great idea, i was just thinking i need something to protect my guitars from the elements, mostly the headstock tho, i was thinking golf club head protectors lol.
the problem is, dust lands on the hardware, then the humidity comes, and yay, starts to pit the hardware n stuff. i don't like to case my guitars, cause i want to play them

My main concern about leaving my guitars out in the open is the humidity. Humidity causes the woods to warp, thus high action and over time damage, not forgetting oxidization on the metal parts.

The strings and neck don't need protecting, strings can be swapped out and its more likely the body of the guitar gets damaged in event of an accident.

It's definitely a good idea and you have identified a real problem for us guitarists, but the product needs more improvement.
