A Custom Made Guitar

look at the flame

1_321705278l.jpg

that isn't really a flame, more like a defect in the wood....

that trem looks pretty much spot on to a mannmade trem that the early prs was using.

alternatively for a more solid less moving parts kinda feel you could take cue from the wilkinsons which feature lock down saddles which prevent them from moving after being intonated. and u could also take note of the vigier bridges which use a ball bearing fulcrum rather that the traditional knife edge which can wear out.

@pentatonic...mann ...thanks for the advice !! :)
nice idea !! bearings like parker has? and a locking saddles !! nice combos
.. thanks man ...
i'll improve it :D

@ i love advance.... hmm looks like it.... but its not a defect, when u found something like that the wood looks more beautiful :), i still found it when i sanding it down and more... although its not really stands out
when i worked on other woods, sometimes flamey looks occurs when the wood grains meet in the opposite direction up and down, left and right.. which is difficult to process bcause of it
well bro.. u made me want to hunt more for any exotic wood !! :p

eclipze,

This is gonna be your #1. Don't sell, keep. So that we can look back in history on this potential line of custom guitars.

Once again, impressive work.

Maybe your mysterious "white wood" is mamywo = jelutong

Kepp us updated...thanks

goose ... my mysterious white wood.. is a really resonant wood .. called "jabon" .. one of my friend tells me .. its not really hard wood like rosewood.. but when u strike it... u can still hear the sound echo-ing inside the wood :D
its best to be used on accoustic guitar ... but let me try it on my neck :D

jabon
(Anthocephalus cadamba)

Jabon a fast growing species, its wood is often used for limited purposes, such as for packaging, simple toys, flooring, supporting cook equipment (spoon, fork) etc. Development of bonding strength technology may give opportunity to improve the use Jabon woods and the quality of its products. The objective of the research is to know the relationship between physical characteristic (specific gravity, water content, shrinkage) of Jabon wood and bonding strength, and between wettability and bonding strength.

its a bit off.. but u need to know about this wood

First,
guys give it a try... what wood is this???? he he he

this is what u call a ROSEWOOD ,,, and this is a BIG RAW CHUNK of Rosewood
this wood is not mine... and its belong my friend
well .. the dark one in the center is the main core u can tell by the grain dark colored ... (and the figure is so sexy) its very very hard.. your bone and this wood... maybe the wood is harder than your bone :p.. this is the hi grade

and u r wondering... what is the light colored wood on the edge of the chunk right? its the outer side of the tree, including the tree's skin.. its very fragile.. i recommend u not to use it (unless in some case u really want to use it, its up to u)...it is low grade not as hard and as rigid as the core

MATERIAL : STAVAC Steel
this is an anti-rust material... very hard... it takes time for shaping it... an exclusive material.. u dont need to coat it chrome... coz its already had a shiny mirror finish when u polish it...
i'm sure no one has ever used this material as a tremolo...
