I got to try malcolm's own screwdriver this morning. I have a bad, bad feeling that it would nuke out most of my collection of OD pedals once my order comes in. I tested it against my barber direct drive which is loaded with burr brown 2604AP. The burr brown chip is suppose to be the mod for the direct drive to give it maximum clarity. But both running on 9v, the screwdriver still beat the barber in articulateness and note definition.
I'm not going to let go of the barber anytime soon though as it nails that hot-rodded marshall vibe. the screwdriver as per malcolm is voiced liked a boogie which is a good thing if you're tired of that midrange hump prevalent in most OD pedals as they're always trying to imitate that tubescreamer sound. To me it is a treble booster, OD pedal, dist pedal, fuzz pedal rolled into one cool-looking unit.
And oh yeah, malcolm's selling at a very reasonable price. How much? It's...............email malcolm at mtlutherie.com. hehe
Thanks Daniel. I'm very, very happy with my Gries 35. Awesome amp for the $$$. I did a lot of research before deciding on the Gries 35 and I'm not disappointed one bit.
I've not played thrpught a cleaner sounding amp other than the Gries and discontinued Reverend amps.
The low end is truly something to behold !!! Especially with the Skreddy Screw Driver and Top Fuel combo. You can literally feel the ground shake!!!
First of all a big thanks to Malcolm the man for setting up the 2 guitars!
It was awesome work done and excellent service given. I really enjoyed my time there watching how precise and careful you were with everything u do!
Thank u bro!
While i was there, i tired the acoustic thru the gries 35 and amazingly it sounds so darn good! i was shocked haha.. later shredcow played his guitar stacked with two screwdrivers and i was like super impressed with the tight chucks u can get with it. Do consider the pedal and the amp if u have the dough!
I played on sunday for the service and i must say the guitar is really very nice now i love it.. there seems to be anoiting in the saddle! hahhaa..
thanks malcolm!
