Will A Pearl RT be Softer volume than my Swingstar

Basically, in my jamming room, the swingstar is freaking loud, and everyone gets drowned out, because of the size of the room.

Would a Pearl RT be significantly softer? or softer in volume? what does mesh-heads mean.

Muffle Head
Pearl's Muffle Heads allow you to silently practice anytime while maintaining the feel of a regular drum head.

those black stuff on top the kit are the mesh heads ,

but if i were you i would rather stick to a swingstar for jamming as the RT don't have the resonant

:)

and their mesh heads practically dent on every hit of it. and the rebound is horrible....

PLAY SOFTER LAH!

u need to master the art of playing a bit softer to allow the other music instruments to cut..

Now, that would depend on how hard you hit wouldn't it?
Volume-wise it's going to be just as loud as any other kit if you're a fairly hard hitter. Will be just as loud as most kits, less resonance though.

I've had a great time with mesh heads, love the rebound, love the silent aspect of it. No issues with denting.

Live in HDB + neighbour has young kids + being considerate = developing ultra light touch over time. Haha.

Note that I didn't say "the rebound very good", I said "I love the rebound"... I find the mesh heads (when just a notch over finger-tight) not much different from a tightly tensioned head. If you tighten them too much, they can be quite 'bouncy'. But finger-tight, or just slightly over, feels good to me. *shrug* YMMV.

that is not an option. i mean, drumming softly i guess requires control and all that. But ur gona need to play louder different parts of the song, to bring out the climax and the "feel". By playing softer, it looses that natural flow, cuz u have to think about hitting very lightly at the same time.

my room is so tiny also, hitting the snare regularly will kill your ears. I wear earplugs in there no matter what. So i really need a kit that will allow me to jam at a reasonably softer volume.

the RT won't do u any good too... it's also loud.. everything boils down to how loud u play... u still can get the feel of playing loudly and such even though ur at a moderate volume..

must master the technique.. :D
