No I gave my rebuttals plenty of times, I was just wondering why you're so against punk bands trying to promote their leftist views and your age just made me realise it. Some teens rebel by following punk rock's message, others do the exact opposite and try to find ways to insult it over the internet. You're just being a typical teen, nothing wrong with that. There's no point arguing, because neither one of us is going to change our views. My point is that it's ok for punk bands to promote their views while still being on a major label while you obviously think that they should move to a cave in Cuba or China or somewhere socialist to be a true punk. It's totally ok, I've met tonnes of guys like you on Rage Against the Machine forums and the like.

I've heard a local vocalist do growling vocals on Metallica classics like Fade to Black and Creeping Death. I just looked and my friend and we both laughed our asses off. Way to ruin great music.

i havent read comments for more than 10+ pages back but i want to say that alot of shit that i've seen on youtube of local bands is just painful to watch.

a majority of it seems very forced & sloppy. Lack of enthusiasm. overall just mediocre.

Now i know that its fun to put on a show and yea i totally agree with that, but it seems like they'd be leapin on opportunities to perform without even getting their act right. It really really pisses me off when bands butcher the music or put on a crappy show.

I really feel that if you want to truly PERFORM and put on a show, this shit has got to stop, people have to start having Stricter auditions, even if it means that less people will "dare" to audit.

At least then, i know that when i pay my money to go see a show, i can be assured some quality in the performance. when bands that really WANT to perform, they would strive harder, work on their acts and try at another event. also when i see freakin poser kids "headbanging" to shitty-ass music just because they think its cool but they look freakin retarded and ...

i want the scene to become crazy Big. but its really effing hopeless..

Napalm Death is a very respectable grindcore bands and has toured thru America, Europe and i personally saw them in KL. The dude makes more money than you and he is one of the most respected grindcore vox, dun think DT will invite any tom dick and harry to go on stage with them unless he is someone and the commentator says it they just having fun by mixing and matching genre, i see no problems with it.

well what the public enjoy or doesn't enjoy is not an issue and frankly i don't really care.

i will play and will play what i want, if they like it and they support us great, if they dun pls lovelovelovelove off. its easy. i am not in the business of converting ppl to listen to my music or changing their views on it.

they have a choice to spend $$ to go to our shows or buy our CD's. simple.

Dude, I've heard of Napalm Death, I was just giving an example. Of course the vocalist in that band didn't sing anything like Barney, or his band didn't play anything like Dream Theater. It's just that you like growling vocals. Not everyone does. I still prefer my 80s Bay Area thrash and NWOBHM stuff.

Plus what the hell does it have to do with the fact that he makes more money than me, of course he does he's a goddamn musician who's sold albums in the thousands or maybe even millions. Soulja Boy makes millions, that means I have to think he's the best in the world? HAHA

I didn't read the first post either. Just skim tru a few random ones.

I personally don't think the local scene sucks.
Or at least I feel that the scene is actually improving.
The music scene now and lets say 5-8 years ago is vastly different.

Now we have so much more local coverage,
segments on TV/radio/press/websites/forums that feature local music.
It is a huge step forward. Less be more appreciative instead.

The truth is that it sucks just as much anywhere else.

The 'bum-note' of a lot of local acts is that, most of them wanna sound like somebody. Now, that's kinda expected cos when you start out, you do covers etc & only after awhile, do you discover your own unique sound.

There is a thin-line between musical influence& musical inspiration.

Having an intimate& indepth experience in the local music scene ( entertainment/media ) in general, I can attest that yea, who you know helps. That may be how it was back then but I'm sure it's still a little of the same now.

Keep the music flowing, keep it real. The changing times have made your music more accessible to the world through the advent of the internet, use that tool..

&it's true it's the same worldwide, struggling bands/artistes are everywhere but as Pantera once proclaimed..

Its only a scene, to those outside of it, most of the time
