im talking about that balding ,thin middle aged fellow from music theme at peninsula. seriously, he gives me attitude everytime i visit his shop.

yes all of the employees at music theme are very friendly and helpful , except one middle aged balding dude. when i was trying out an amp , i asked whats the difference between 2 effects. he told me to strum on the first effect , then switch to the second effect and strum again and promptly said "theres the difference".

susequently when i passed by his store and was looking at the guitars from outside the store, he got up from his chair came over and stared me down.like he was about to kill me.

to the softies that know the guy, does he usually have his attitude? i would understand if the guy got pissed if i tried their gear for an hour and left without purchasing anything, but i didnt even touch the guy , much less piss him off.

maybe i wasnt too clear with his description, he was very thin and looked kinda old

I had had no issues with Music Theme before, even from the uncle. He always has a smile on his face, always ready to help, even when I tell him I'm merely browsing

cause i love them ernie balls

Ernie ball strings? I believe " them ernie balls" can be bought in most guitar shops.. Probably the most common brand of strings alongside d'addario. Back onto the topic, everyone at music theme has been nice to me so far even though I've never spent more than a couple of bucks there before.

Hmm, even davis doesn't have them? Well, my bad then.. It seems you've got no choice but to put up with their attitude then..

its not about me buying the strings, moreso about the guy himself.
im puzzled why would an employee have such deterring demeanor to a paying customer, its ridiculous

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I personally haven't had a bad experience at Music Theme, bought a couple of stuff there including a guitar which I tested for about 30 minutes. I did, however, have an unpleasant experience across the aisle at GC. Bad enough for me to swear off that place. Once bitten, twice shy. My hard-earned money goes somewhere else. Simple!

Huh? I don't get what's wrong with this. In fact this is the exact service I'd want when trying amps out, to be allowed to hear it for yourself.

And if we have the same guy in mind, then in my experience as well he's been nothing but friendly and helpful any time I step in there.

Epic thread title.

But really, this thread unjustifiably damages the reputation of Music Theme.

It should be locked and deleted.

I stand outside the shop and look at the display all the time but never get any issues from the employees. Most of us here don't experience what is claimed. Conclusion is, the problem probably lies with the TS, and not with the shop's employees.

And here's a tip to those shopping, don't only expect a smile or politeness from the service provider. It goes a long way, if you yourself smile and are polite. Customer service is a communication process and communication processes are two-way. It won't kill you to smile or thank the person serving you.

i highly doubt the problem lies within me, not trying to be some conceited jackass or anything. since none of you softies have any bad experiences with the employees, ill have to assume that's the case. >.>

I personally never had a bad experience there before but the last time i went there, I overheard someone telling a customer if he has tried enough of the guitar/amp. Definitely not the guy you are talking about cause he was busy at the counter but the other guy sounded rude and i was quite shocked at how he could actually talk to a customer like that. I can't say much because i only went in for a couple of minutes but who knows, maybe the customer was unreasonable and tried the equipment for a long time?

maybe i wasn't clear enough about the guy. he had short hair , was rather thin , and looked 30,40+

Music theme good wad... The service there is good and the prices of stuff are pretty reasonable. I am intending to send my guitar there for set up soon ;]

Try smiling to the guys across Music Theme. They might spray you with whatever they seem to be spraying all the time..!

Most shops are friendly though. I've had pleasant purchases from Davis (sorry I don't know their names but the rocker dude from their new shop near the escalator and also the tall, dark shaven head crew from their main store), SV Guitars (Best!) and Woodworkz (GAS!).

Back to the topic, yeah...no problemo with Music Theme for me. Hope you get better luck next time. Or just go somewhere else. Your vote is your power. :D
