Why do people not research before buying/enquiring these days?

One pertinent problem I have noticed in all my time buying and selling gear in the forums has been the lack of research on the part of buyers. Much as I may try to regale EVERY SINGLE detail about the piece of gear I am selling in my WTS post, people still SMS to inquire about those very details. In addition, some specifications can be obtained via a 2-second google search. I have had experiences of 20-30 SMS long conversations with potential buyers, only to have the deal rendered void because of a specification that was already mentioned in my WTS post!

My point is this: if whatever information you want is available in the WTS post or by a simple google search, please do so before inquiring about gear. Oil prices continue to skyrocket, utilities costs are going up, so please, do us all a favour.

I'm sure everyone will be happy knowing what they are parting with their money for. When I want to buy a piece of gear, I make sure I know EVERY SINGLE detail about it - its specifications, its reliability, etc.

The same goes for the many of the other questions on this forum - JUST GOOGLE IT! Ask if you are unsure about something that you have painstakingly researched and attempted to understand. Thank you.

Cheers!

I have ppl asking me about price even if it's stately clearly in the ad. well... guess you're not alone here.

haha. depends on whether they blind or not la i guess. i usually get questions abt the price, mostly hoping they can reduce the price like crazy

Mayb some overlook?
But yea, i think most are trying to reduce the price. cheapskate hahah

yea like how i used to try to sell my warlock for 150 bucks and people lowball till 80 bucks.

sold it to someone i knew eventually for 100 bucks, but i am glad, knowing i have earned 20 bucks more than the 80 that most people offered me lol.

haha singaporeans la, its common. alot of people sms me about previous sales like my loopers and all but i've already closed the thread stating the sale has already been done. cant these buggers read? sms me when i have clearly stated the SALE HAS BEEN DONE. well i don even bother to reply, i just delete the sms. waste of my time to type a reply and 5 cents.

these buggers like to surf and see pictures only. they don't like to read. they're not from the era where the interwebs was all only TEXT and they didn't play MUDs and MOOs or "surf" BBS.

thats why when I sell(rarely) I state NO SMS. SMS is Deth of Communication. Call and we settle yes or no in minutes. but then as you know those buggers will sms me. I just call back and ask them what they wanna know.

Abt the sms - I do that too, Edder.

I don't understand exchanging SMS after SMS when a simple call can settle it in 2 mins.

I think this is the big difference that depicts a good seller or a bad seller.

I believe a good seller have to entertain their customers no matter what. Even if questions asked might feel nonsensical.

So, let's say... Guitar 77. You walk in, you see a guitar which has a price tag on it that states $1000. But you still ask the sales assistant.

Which answer would you prefer: The guitar is selling at $1000? OR Can't you read yourself?

You guys decide.

Lazy fellas ...
Chicken shit when it comes to commitments.

Halloo boys and girls... if you are like the above ...you never gonna make it as musician or even a ball picker ....

I believe a good seller have to entertain their customers no matter what.
Ok we do a little experiment...how
Lets switch?
I be your customer how?

I call you now? how?

I have guys who call me up or sms me and ask ridiculous questions. But i think it's still the seller's responsibility to answer the buyer's questions or so.

In a way, it also kind of give you a better reputation in the WTS section. Because of your patience with customers, i think sales can be more effective.

Yes you got a point Remy.
But when you get ridiculous questions and people calling out of boredom...it shoves you to the borderline of sanity!

So best do a little research prior to queries ...you might get a better deal. ;)

I also think its the seller's prerogative whether or not to entertain stupid buyers when more than enough information is given on the product sold.

Well if I need the money, yes. Money makes the world go round.
