Which type Ibanez Guitar to buy??I like playing Avenged sevenfold..

dude why dont you just go for nicholasim's omen 6.will surely produce that A7X sound thru the invaders.

Maybe it's just me, but I found the Schecter (when I tried it at G77 last time) a lil bit "dead"..
But since Nicholasim has swapped the pickups, I bet it would sound much much better..
Kinda like how most Epis need a pickup swap before its true potential is achieved..

ah yes !!! thanks Dime and reez , help me promote hahah !

i assure u , a7x no problem.. if u want can add me on msn i let you hear lol. ( very desperate..)

vickomaniac

i own an sa120 too, as a starter guitar.
originally thought it was noob as i improved, but as i learned how to tweak, recognized sounds, i realised its a good guitar with a warm, mahagony tone.
its not like a basswood with crappy stock pickups... its capable of nice cleans too.
so do give it a shot, the SA series is something many ppl underestimate...

Yes, the Ibanez SA series is way underrated.

You want a normal tremolo but not Floyd Rose type, then its the SA series for ya because the SA series is the only series of guitars in Ibanez's wide arsenal that has a light synchronized tremolo. Mine's a gio model, GSA60, but it stays in tune very well and I almost never have to retune it. Not only that, the SA series is very versatile. It can play blues all the way to modern metal, as I've discovered with mine.

Fenders can never play A7x, certainly not. They're more soft-rock or blues oriented, owing to the usual alder body and S-S-S config. Gibsons... Maybe la, but if you're willing to stay still because of the guitar's weight. But both are certainly way way out of your budget. BC Richs are also way out of your budget. The cheapest I saw was around the same price as an Ibanez standard range RG.

For that budget, you can only get a gio if you wanna head towards Ibanez, but you might be able to find some gems in other brands like Vantage or Greg Bennett (no, not Samick, Greg Bennett) that should last you awhile until you can buy a standard range Ibanez.

Dave Murray:
3 Fender Custom Shop Stratocasters with Floyd Rose tremolo systems.
Seymour Duncan Hot Rails Pickups

Adrian Smith:
Fender American Stratocaster with a Floyd Rose tremolo system with a backup Fender.
# SRV Texas Special Pickups (neck and middle)
# DiMarzio Super Distortion (bridge)
Gibson SG with a backup Gibson.
Stock Pickups

Eugenesmasher , for the ibanez SA series is the guitar okay without the Single coil in between humbucker for playing A7X, metallica and all other rock/metal songs??because as im not sure If i have the money would i rather buy H S H or just H H pickups???

And where can i get those SA series which is not 2nd hand??And izzit higher than my budget($400 (include amp))?? or must top up??

Errrr.. it depends actually.. but most prefer ESP LTD or IBANEZ RG to play metal.. IMO.. i tink la.. errr.. hmm...

Hmmm...

The SA series only has either H-H or H-S-S but for A7x stuff I think the humbucker is what is important, even when it comes to solos or cleans. In fact, for most hard stuff, the humbucker is what musicians use.

$400... I don't think it is enough. A standard range SA brand new costs around $600 at Swee Lee (Bras Basah complex) so its gonna be hard. But I recommend the Gio version, the GSA60 mainly because I own one, and ironically, over all the guitars I've ever tried, I love it the most. For the GSA60, you will have to save up more for a good amplifier since the GSA60 costs around $320 brand new.

On my GSA, I almost never use the singlecoils, but I rely on the bridge humbucker only, and I'm able to play Candlemass and other very heavy stuff.
