Which Guitar should i get? Opinions PLEASE (:

instead of spending 600 on the amp and getting an MG or AVT, hold on buying a whole bunch of pedals, get an OD and an orange tiny terror halfstack. it'll sound loads better than a strat or lp through 10 pedals.

Cannnnn, how hard is it to shred is a whole different matter altogether, the disgustingly blocky heel and the fhumongous neck, throw in a virtually non-existent cutaway... Yea, the LP is like the Porsche of the guitar world, totally overrated, round and ugly.

-ignore this post if you disagree with me, because i absolutely hate les pauls.

ever since i traded off mt lp for a rg550ex.. ive been playing faster den ever before, hence i agree with his theory.. wizard 1 neck FTW :D:D

Yup, but wizards not for everyone though, I find sweep picking on them somewhat challenging because you're like curling in on a piece of paper.

The fact that you need an OD to boost the Tiny Terror in the first place... get a JVM, onboard drive is rather sufficient until you decide to hit hardcore metal tones...

Meaning, getting a guitar, and a amp. Only need 1 wire (dun forget, you need extra patch cables and guitar -> amp cable)

I used to think you were credible... until you began insulting Porsches... Hahahahaha... They ugly? You mad ah? The 993 is one of the world's most beautiful cars!!!! Then again, LPs are nice to look at too!

Wait... LPs have a blockier heel compared to strats??? Really?;)

Wah, cannot have strat with Vox AC15 (Handwired) meiz... lol... Not better? Orange, unless get the Rockoverb/Tiny Terror or dunno wat name one...

Laney... hmmmm, since he picked Marshall I was thinking he would go brit type tone... Vox more appropriate :D

Aiyah... anything also can lah... AC15, MG15, LC15 anything also can... as long as it works for you lah... I mentioned these 2 because it's affordable lah... Cheap Marshalls or Voxes to me are worse than cheap guitars...

Erm...

P.S. Laney IS brit...:???:

ah well, maybe because I'm totally into american muscle, '89 CHEVY CORVETTE!

LPs have a heel the size of an elephant's penis. Strats are so much nicer to play high up the neck. Heck strats are nice to play anywhere.

well the price diff between the TT and the JVM can get you a lovepedal eternity with money left over so there really isn't a comparison. and the JVM's onboard gain is more than enough for metal.(dave mustaine?) you might wanna wait for the tiny terror combo if you don't wanna go with a head and cab though.

Guitar

Ok. Im thinking of getting a new guitar. Either a Japanese Fender Strat 72' or the Gibson Les Paul Double Cut Plus.

Fender Cost about 800-900
Gibson Cost about 1.7k-1.8k
(prices of the guitar from ppl i want to buy from. Not Stock Price!)

I have about 2.9k and i wanna get a 600 bucks marshall amp and some other effx.

If i get the Fender, i can happily get my self 6-10 pedals.
With the Gibson, i can get 3-6.
(prices of pedals varies)

So im really in a dilemma:confused: of which one should i get. Please help out :-D

Thnx alot!

Cheers,

Ps: 600 marshall amp only could i be bought if i go for the Fender.
And Minus 400 bucks cos i needa do something with it. Thnx

Ok just to give u a quick idea, strat= strong single coil Twang, single coil(hummings, unless u install lace censors etc etc), and gibson= there is twanginess but humbucker twanginess.

Scales if u use on these two guitars

blues with strat = ull get that single coil twang with neck pups, sharp sound with bridge like yngwie j malmsteen guitar sound

Blues with gibson = u will still get twang but diff one, humbucker twanginess, e.g Slash guitar sound, thick sounding.

Arpeggios/neo classical with strat = Strat would bite, if you nail neo-classical licks, alot of tones would come out off strat with Sweep pickings, string skips etc etc very neo-classical sounding u would get off strat. Sorta say strat has punchy twangy sound especially with tubescreamer or OD3 pedal.

Arpeggios/neo classical with Gibson = Abit muddy tho, if you change pickups the gibson sound will still be there, u cant get that 'punchy twang' like u get off strats, u will still be able to do the sweep picking finger stunts but totally diff sound you would get. I duno i had both guitars Gibson LP is great it just have diff sounding so called Muddy.

Country licks with strat = perfect sounding for chicken picking and stuff.

Country licks with Gibson = not bad but just doesnt perfect guitar for country playing.

Metal with strat = NOt too bad sounding but humbucker would sound more solid, thicker, not bad for strats tho, just that humbucker guitars would give more punch if you play the power chords.

Metal with Gibson = Solid, punchy due to humbucker sound off the guitar, but Ibanez kinda guitars would fit better in my opinion, they sound brighter.

Just my 1 cent opinion hehe, coz i had both, and i sold both guitars till i picked up the guitar again, but right now using a low end Epiphone LP special II with Tesla VR-60 Humbucker gold, love the sound of LP hehehe. But intend to sell the guitar tho.

Nice points... Just want to add that if you play thru a BOSS MT2 for Metal, single coils are definately still good enough to get that big big thump!

The MT2 will kill any differences between the humbuckers and the single coils... Hahahahaha...

american muscle's for the looks man, like I said, '89 chevy corvette!

Wait... you're telling me that this:

mind explaining how come these 2 brands sound diff when both usually use 2 humbuckers? is it cos of the type of humbuckers they use? or is it cos of their weight? thx in advance :)
