That's perfectly fine. If there are some good courses in ITE that attracts you and that's your goal, then aim for it. Don't aim anywhere lower than that.

Whatever you chooses now is very crutial. But since your interest are siding into a useful direction, you should follow that interest. Learning or studying is a never ending process. Even when we're at work, there will always be something that we learn along the way.
Not everyone goes the smooth path to varsity. Believe that you could go there too but a different path. May take longer but the main objective is to achieve it. I have seen many who succeeded and you have no excuse for that until you try.

Even in university (or any higher institute of learning), you'll have courses you can major in. IE. in NUS, the "hot" major for arts students would be political science, or communications and new media. as i've told a lot of my friends in nus, what the hell's the point in going for a major in either one of these two courses, if you don't have interest in it? there's no driving force for you to excel, and you'll end up in the middle of nowhere.
For your 2nd point, lemme share a story with you guys. my battery commander back in my ns days was a super heavy chain smoker, and he was essentially an ah beng. but surprise surprise, he's a degree holder, and he's in the process of taking his masters.
He took the super long route to uni.... sec 5 -> poly -> dropout go ITE -> came to his senses, worked hard, went back to poly -> university -> masters.

It sucks.. I'm a science student but I wanna dive into media or fsv..
Wouldn't mind audio engineering but the Big 3 don't offer em..
And thread starter.. You're too young to make such big decisions..

Go for O lvls!!! Just suffer for 1 more year and u can go to a poly or a jc. First, it saves time, rather than going to ITE and take higher nitec. If u go to ITE, u will have to suffer at least 3 yrs or more in order to go to poly. Btw, gd luk for ur N!!

BY THE WAY IM GOING TO BE 16 THIS MARCH F.Y.I....and i stay bedok,sec 4 normal acad student at bedok town sec sch......and i thought that i wanna go ITE COLLEGE EAST after my N levels.....Guys,im not a gangster(for malays MAT ) or even a smoker ....just a decent guy....so do you think ITE college east( beside EXPO) is my right decision after N levels??guys pls gimme more advice ....THANKZ

I suggest ITE.they do offer Higher Nitec for N level students if im not wrong.
Well,I strongly advise you to pay close attention to maths if you're
thinking of sitting for the O Level paper.No polytechnics will offer you
if you screw it up,well I guess according to my own experience.
But of course on a lighter note,it's worth giving it a shot.

Bro,if you wanna go to ITE nobody can stop you.
However,I would like to share what I went through with you.
I was a Sec 4 Express student.Flunked my O level Maths.That sealed my fate.
Didn't want to retake it.Hated Maths to the core.
So I went to ITE.Chose a course I really liked and had a passion for,Automotive Technology.
If you choose something you really like,trust me,you'll be learning and absorbing knowledge almost automatically.
Ended up graduating as the top student,with a certificate of merit.Scored 3.8 out 4 for my GPA.Can get direct 2nd year entry for some diploma courses,but now I doing NS first.
Then those gangsters,It's the end stories lah,just ignore it.I got into some shit myself.Regretted it.Don't mix with the wrong people while you're in there and make the best of it.My teachers were damn supportive.

GUYS lol sorry,,,,how come my thread makes somebody angry???lol just to say that i did not say that ITE is filled with gangster ...by the way,IM REALLY interested in AUTOMOTIVE technology course ad wanting to go for it...but Will,wats the requirements for courses like AUTOMOTIVE???i am really interested in learning cars, parts e.t.c rather than studying academic......

f*ck what people say.having a diploma cert doesnt mean they are so f**king smart or rich.i have met several people who have become lecturers at the polytechics these tards are entering and surprisingly some of them came from ITE.met some students at poly who graduated from ITE too.well nothing is the limit.you know yourself.you set your goal not others.and dont fight.its embarrassing.

^i dont see wad's wrong in getting into ITE , these days ITE becoming better and better and of course it's better to aim for something higher eh!
