Where to buy this tube in SG? 12DW7 (ECC832)

Hi,

I checked the regular shops in Burlington Sq but they don't carry them. Anyone knows where to get this tube? Would like to try it in my Valve Junior.

I play harmonica through the Valve Junior I need more clean headroom than most guitar players.

I find the stock 12ax7 breaks up too soon and compresses too quickly.

Swapped that out for a 12ay7 and i'm getting a quite a bit more clean sound at higher vol before breakup. Tried a 12au7 but its too cold and doesn't feel good.

Kind of curious about the 12dw7 though.

with a 12au7 you need to reduce a certain resistor in the amp .....

Rather than change the tube to another, I would suggest using the suggested tube (12AX7) and changing out the speaker to a more efficient one. This will give you more volume at the same settings on the amp and give you better control over the tone. The preamp tubes you mentioned are NOT interchangeable.

If you need help getting a speaker I may be able to give you some suggestions even though I'm living in OZ now!
