whats up with people these days??

Apparently the logic is that if you park your car in a no-parking zone next to a HDB block, and if I then throw flower-pot down from the 12th storey, thus damaging the car and injuring you, I can just say, "Who asked you to leave your car there?". I wonder if the legislation on killer litter has taken this "loop-hole" into consideration?

wait, so your telling me your Friend pushed down that other guy's Bike and HE had to pay for the damages?

Its a Public court so NOONE sohuld have made some stupid agreement on who should take the court, thats just DUMB. First come first serve.

Also its a Basketball court, be considerate, your the one playing Soccer in a freakin BasketBall court...

No field, dont play. Take Your game somewhere else.

Dont damage other people's property, yea that guy was an *Ahole for throwing the ball out of the court but you shouldn't be there in the first place.

Normally I'd side the softies? (NOT)

but your just mean...

i hope your friend pays back that guy for the Damages he DID NOT DO and apologise and play in a proper field next time.

it seems our friend THOA seems to know alot about the law..

im impressed.

but seriously.
in my opinion, his story just doesnt add up.
it doesnt really makes much sense on the HERO PUSH BIKE DOWN,
such courage. should i be proud?
and how THEY got fine?

-------------
it is an offence to park illegally, but no. police cant really fine on the spot. they will take down the particulars of the rider and bike and refer them to TRAFFIC police for futher work. only then you will receive a fine via mail.

and with the HERO PUSHING DOWN BIKE, yes as THOA said, its mischieve and non seizable since the police wasnt there to see it personally. But then again policemen are not stupid and the basketball dudes are not mute. they would have told the officers of the incident, and then the officers would have taken down your friends particulars. it depends entirely on the victims as to pursue the case or let it rest.

seriously dude. i dont see the point of you starting this thread unless your trying to show off how mucho gusto you guys are.

honestly so far, you've only made yourself a fool...
plus its just a ball. thrown away, plus your the outsiders. soccer balls are not meant to play on basketball court.

seriously even though i do play at basketball court. we only play when theres no basketballers around or we split the court in half. but still if they decided to play full court. we will wait our turn or go to the street soccer court which is about 800m-1km away? It IS their court afterall.

plus in my area we have a mutual understanding. the oldtimers of the court know us to be a very peaceful bunch of guys, and in my area during the fasting month, they basketballers will only occupy the courst till 9pm the most and let the muslim guys occupy the court after that.

there was one incident when we were sharing court. and officers came to us and say someone complained that we were making too much noise palying soccer. the thing is, the basketballers actually defended us, by saying that
"
if someone complained, why must it be soccer? we are also playing basketball what? so why cannot be us?"

the officer replied that "but this is a basketball court"

the basketballers replied "so? we are not complaining? we sharing court what? plus the complain is not about people playing soccer on basketball court. its about noise pollution. so if your asking them to stop, then we also stop la? its only 8pm sir, your not being prejudice are you?"

the officers just stood there dumbfounded for a few seconds before finally asking us to lower our volume and left..

seriously.. you guys need to learn to respect others before you can receive respect.
you did mention that the outsiders was the one who threw the ball away?
so basically your just venting your unnecessary anger just because an outsider dont know the the agreement between fellow basketballers and footballers?

and your proud of it?

Nature of the traffic offence or illegal parking can be filled out by the officers in a document that is meant for traffic offences. One copy will be issued to the offender while another copy will be sent to Traffic Police for processing, which thereafter fine will be issued.

In minor traffic offences or illegal parking situations (like in this case), they have as much power as their Traffic counterparts.

Still we cannot be certain for a fact that that is what they have been fined for. TS didn't put that as a fact.

But whatever the case is, I am agreeable with most Softies here; that the pushing of the bike and getting away with it is not something you should be proud of. It is dumb move. It
is even dumber to post about it and try to make it seem that they deserve what they got and that you deserve to walk away from the incident unreprimanded.

But I think THIS is the icing of this cake:

Betsybug,Newbie= i tink he was fined cos he was a foreigner. his accent was no way around here

yea but still, u not suppose to create trouble on other ppls land

okay thats what i meant, but im kinda just got home and my mind is not working well. yet to sleep since yesterday morning so pardon my brief 'explanation' of things

so many codes, sections etc. to remember...
its hard unless you have the whole dictionary of law book at home..

as for the icing, i dont think its an offence to be a foreigner.
not any that i can remember of.

This is interesting. Both parties should be fined. The thing is, if you park illegally, and if someone drops a flowerpot on your bike or something, who ask the guy park his bike there, but the thing is, IS DROPPING ITEMS FROM HDB FLATS LEGAL? Same principal. Who ask the dude park his bike there, but still, your friend did push the bike down. On purpose. The guys should've been fined. But you're friend also should've been fined. It's really idiotic to post this on Singapores biggest music forum. Delete this thread. If any officer finds this thread, you're going down.

Cheers,
WWH

the question is, what if an officer ALREADY found this thread?
*thriller*
what if....
points at THOA...

haha.. okay jokes aside..

...soon after a few mins, my fren kicked e ball wrongly and it goes to their direction of the basketball players VERY VERY SLOWLY it rolled and hit one of their backs. and tat guy....

wow!..it flew in the air VERY VERY SLOWLY to hit the back yea?.. was it part of the film "click" that was cut?..hahaha

Haha I not officer la. :p

Anyway, it doesn't have to do with national security or safety, so most likely if got people find this thread, sure ignore one.

What you should be afraid of is what if one of the BIKE OWNER saw this thread. He can use this as as evidence to support his case.

:o

Jeng Jeng Jeng! *dramatic P Ramlee music*

haha.soccer pawns anything from madonna to michael jackson.

so keep the legs kicking people!

i think maybe the most basic reasoning i can think of, as to why the police officer fined the foreigners (whom i STILL (after 6 pages of reading) have no idea why they were fined/put to the blame) because............

Just maybe.......................

Cause the officers might have been friends of the TS????

wow! you mean officers can fine people as they please? I'm going to befriend every officer I can find!

Bravo to the justice system!

I would say that you are quite a delusional one, sorry. Well I'm not really sorry but yeah, I am pretending that I'm sorry.

The basketball players definitely deserve the court more than you somehow.

Ok, read this, slowly. Maybe you'll be able to understand Or if you've had one too many knocks in the head with a basketball, it might take a while.

"the BASKETBALL players wanted to play on ....the...BASKETBALL....court."
and you are saying you have more of a right to it then them?

Now, take a moment to comprehend this.

......
(twiddles thumbs)

........
(one thousand years later)

Done?

Ok, logic says that whether or not they 'promised' you to share the court, it doesn't matter. By right, they are entitled to more of a right to play there than you and your black and white ball. Why? Because it's a basketball court.

Do I play tennis in the golf course? No.
Do I go for special massage at a hair salon? No.
Do I ask for raw hardcore red meat at a vegetable stall? No.
Do I go to a dentist if somebody hits me in the ba||s? Oh goodness, no.
Do they have a right to play basketball at a basketball court?
I'd say yes.
Are you of questionable intellect? Let's leave this hanging in the air, shall we?

And I'd say you are very very lucky to have gotten away with nothing.
And nothingness is what your logic is based on if you think you had the right over the other guys. I suspect it is what lies between your ears too.

Sorry!

No wait, I'm not. I don't apologize to vandals.
