i think the crux of the matter is that shadowsdiamond is offended by the fact that the basketball players made a gentleman's agreement with the soccer players but ignored it a short period of time later. i can understand his sense of indignation/outrage/injustice.
however, let's take a step back and look at the facts:
1) basketball player throws their ball out despite prior agreement to share the court. ( childish, dishonourable behaviour)
2) shadowsdiamond's friend pushes basketball players' motorbikes over and damages them. (childish and CRIMINAL behaviour)
the response was disproportionate to the provocation, and also cancelled out the "gentleman" part of the afore-mentioned gentleman's agreement.
imho, it would have been wiser to remind the basketball players of the earlier agreement, and behave in a gracious manner. at least you'll be able to look yourself in the mirror afterwards and know that you're a better person than the basketball players (hence, "what's up with people these days??")
chances are the basketball players would've been shamed into reacting politely, and both groups could've moved on positively, rather than a sort of ticking time bomb situation around the basketball court now.
as far as the cops go...well, i never expect figures of official authority to behave logically.
hope shadowsdiamond takes away some positive lessons from the incident (other than "we won. yay, we rock!! they suck!!"
