whats exactly is a booster?

preservation of basic tone with increased girth, gain/volume is very very important..it sets the good boosters from the shitty ones..

so is volume pedal considered a booster? bestestest booster, since it doesn't change the basic tone at all :D

i used to use a ge-7 as a volume/solo boost too

so er ... What happened to it and why dude?

i downsized my board a little and realised that i don't have any use for a volume boost any more..and i never used it for eq in the first place seo it was kind of just taking up extra space on my board.

hhm ... ok! datz cool! where as for me, currently im using my GE7 to shape my tone, and alittle for the volume boost!

my fav clean booster, period:

Rebuild!

Change to hifi opamps, change to metal film resistors, get rid of any ceramic caps, up the power caps, rebias if required to. Put in a disco led.

Call it the chaoahbeng mod!

ZHNG MY BOOSTER!

..might as well just buy a new one right? haha

have you guys ever wondered why people prefer either a Mosfet or Fet transistor clean boosters  .... must be a reason ...yes ?!?!

 I feel compelled but NO!!!!

Actually, goose, u da man to explain scuh things... its good to know, good to know what to look out for.

buy new one? new microamp? still the same components inside what!

still need to be AHSENG-ED!

A decent "nice" booster will be transistor based with a gain and volume knob and best with a bass and treble cut. Now you can have versatility in your choice of frequency to boost. For example if you are using single coils ...you can cut the highs if its too bright ...without coloring the tone excessively and for humbuckers release the high cut and tame the bass for some nice clarity.

See what we need is 'brightness' in loads which can be tamed later as this would assist in churning out ur tone (cut through) when jamming and this comes in truck loads with a transistor based booster ..
one early pedal that did this ...

read abt it
the guy who built it..... please do not laugh at his photo..thats what a genius looks like

Actually, this reminds of the Seymore Duncan pickup booster.

It has modes (switch) for single coils and humbucker operation.
